Thanks to all the friends old and new that shared news over the phone. Class of 'B3s are a patient bunch. They'll gladly take 10,20, even 30 minutes out of their day to converse with your trusty scribe to broadcast the news of their life. I would never want to replace these conversations. But I do want to advertise another quick way to share your storiesthrough the class Web site. It's fun, takes just a few minutes and you'll make your classmates so happy to hear from you. Visit www.dartmouth. org/classes/83 and submit an e-Green Card to Lisa Quirk Kaija, who loves to get the latest from '83 s everywhere.

You've probably noticed that you haven't received a paper newsletter in some time—other than the missive that asked you for class dues (thanks for sending those checks—we need the green.) These days, newsletters will come to you via the class listserv—in virtual format only. So, go to the online Vox Alumni Directory and update your e-mail address—don't miss out on the news!

I received a bio of an overseas classmate just in time for this column. Peter Schoppert is a writer, publisher and multimedia producer living in Singapore. Currently he holds the position of managing director of Singapore University Press and director of NUS Publishing, a unit of NUS Enterprise Aquick recap of his career: He co-founded asiacontent.com, one of Asia's pioneering companies in the Internet media business. He wrote Java Style, a photographic look at Southeast Asian culture. In Paris from 1992 to 1995 he served as the editorial director for Editions Didier Millet, a Paris-based book publisher. After graduating Dartmouth he landed a Fullbright to study for a master's of social science degree from the National University of Singapore (awarded in 1986). He is married to Lee Chor Lin, director of the Singapore History Museum. Peter first visited Southeast Asia in 1978—obviously, it's agreed with him.

Connie Craig Metas told me a few months ago that she might have some news for the class. Yesterday she was happy to report that she is six months pregnant and that she and her husband, Ted, look forward to October for the new arrival. My phone call interrupted her as she was painting the baby's room. While in nesting mode, she still finds time to teach English and Spanish at L.A.-area high schools to support her acting career. Connie does theater, voiceovers, commercials and appears in movies, like the we-hope-soon-to- be-relezsed Meet Me in Miami. Ted just started a business specializing in high-end mattress sales, called Hibernation. Connie will need one of those ultra-comfortable sacks about the time you read this!

She reports that the recent nuptials of '82 Joe Reinkemeyer featured '83 guests such as Minna Towbin Pinger, a happy mom in N.Y.C., and Roger Morrison, who is in advertising and lives in L.A. Connie also told me that she keeps in touch with Beth Wagshul-Besen, proud mom of two in Chappaqua, New York, and Cathy Barr Taylor in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

I caught up with Cathy, and she says that life is busy as mom of two soccer-playing girls, ages 12 and 9. She regrets not attending our 20th last June, but when the kids are playing on championship teams, what's a mom to do? She also holds down a flexible, but demanding, job marketing AT&T Wireless services. No lack of fashionable ring-tones in that household! I asked if she ever sees Wellesley neighbor Dave Crane and, yes, she had, about a year ago.

Please write and let us know what you are up to.
