For those of you who may not have heard, our class president, Joe Michael, died May 26, two weeks before our 60th reunion. He was a warm, hardworking and effective president. We will all miss him as a friend, classmate and leader.

Our 60th reunion took place a week ago, as I write this. One hundred nine people attended the reunion. Vesta Smith and Bob Tirrell and their committee did a wonderful job. Participants were able to attend meals at their graduate schools, a beautiful reception and dinner at the Hanover Inn, a luncheon and class meeting in the Novack Cafe in the new Berry Library, breakfasts in Thay'er Dining Hall and a final banquet and dance in our old Freshman Commons. All of the dining experiences were organized magnificently by Ruth and Don Sisson. Bus tours showed the Skiway, new dorms, Thayer School addition and the Kemeny math building, all under construction. Rooms in Middle Mass were very comfortable with their new private baths.

These Class Notes will be my last and I want to say how much I have enjoyed doing them and getting to know the class much better as a result. It is a great class and I am proud to be a part of it. I am sure Bob Joy, your new secretary, will get as much pleasure as I have for the past five years. The officers I listed in my last column, with the addition of Jug Agry as class agent, were elected at the class meeting on Tuesday. Our new president, Ted Safford, took over the class meeting on Tuesday. Peg and Bob Tirrell have agreed to take on the 1945 class newsletter from Rosalie Cutter, who has done a great job. Dick Hinman invites you to our next mini-reunion, to be housed in the Hanover Inn, starting on Sunday afternoon, September 18, with the Colgate game the preceding Saturday. The Florida mini-mini will be March 6, 2006.
