Hello class of'04. With this note I just want to point out that there are now two classes with notes behind ours in the AlumniMagazine. How has the time gone by so quickly??

On to the news: Alot has happened since our summer update. Sebastian Jaeger has returned from a two-year stint teaching for JET in a village on the island of Shikoku. While participating in the JET program Sebastian traveled throughout Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Korea and Singapore. He has now enrolled in graduate school at Stanford.

Also enrolled in graduate school is Clare Gupta, who returned in July from Botswana, where she was helping to start up an environmental education program in a local village school. On her way back to California Clare dropped in on Rebecca Leffler in Paris. While in Paris Leffler reintroduced Clare to the joys of civilization—French pastries, cheese, baguettes and, bien sur, running water, sacre bleu! But alas, the visit only lasted a few days: Leffler had to return to her position as head of international development atLeFilm Francis magazine, while Clare made her way west to begin her Ph.D. in environmental studies at Berkeley.

While Clare and Rebecca were enjoying Paris another gang of '04 ladies gathered for some fun in the sun this summer: Eleanor Alexander, Jennie Savoca,Chelsea Lane Miller, and Lauren Hendrickson met up for some vacation in the British Virgin Islands—next time, I only request you pack me in your suitcase!

And a final installment of grad school updates: Quiana Scotland began studying at the Morehouse School of Medicine on July 6, Kristina Eaton began med school at the University of Nevada (Reno) in August and Sam Stein began Columbia School of Journalism in August. Meanwhile, on the law school front, Jess Leinwand began Columbia Law School, Paul Bozello began Harvard Law School and Statos Pahis began Yale Law School this August. Whew! Looks like we will have plenty of legal representation for the class moving forward....

On the weddings and engagement front I have a few updates: Hye-Keun Lee married Eunice Yi on August 20, Mike Tanana and Heather Smith are engaged and newlyweds Amy Price and Ross Markwort headed down to South America on July 30 for ayearof teaching through the organization World Teach. They will be updating a Web site, www.rossandamy.com , and would love to hear from everyone while they are abroad! Congratulations to all and I look forward to hearing more from you!
