Greetings classmates! Only three years to our 25 th reunion. Hope that everyone has it on their calendar.
I received a tip that congratulations are due to Donald Matfersdorff and his wife, Celine. They welcomed their first child, son Lachlan, early this year. The three of them reside near Oakland, California. Donald is running his own investment advising business across the bay in San Francisco. Welcome to the wonderful and crazy world of parenting.
Speaking of crazy—what do you get when you put my 6-year-old son Jack together with Matthew, the 6-year-old son of Carla Small and Bob Cronin? Lots of activity. My family was lucky enough to have Carla and her two younger children, Michaela (8) and Matthew, visit us for part of their spring break. Emma and Michaela had a great time. They talked almost as much as Carla and I did. Bob stayed home with their older son, Brendon. Carla, Bob and their three children live in Needham, Massachusetts. Bob is working as an investment banker at Stone bridge Technology and Carla is doing some consulting (more details on that later). In addition to being a consultant, Carla has been consulting another Boston area 'B4. Heather Keare and a friend have started a new interior design business, K.S. Design. Even though they have just entered the market, they have been very busy. Carla also had news of Anjali Hulyalker Chuttani, M.D. She, her husband, Ram, and their two sons will be trekking in the Himalayas this summer.
Tom McDougal responded verynicely to myemail inquiry. "I'm in my third year as a sort of elementary school math coach on the south side of Chicago, helping teachers implement a cool curriculum that gets the students more engaged and makes math more meaningful. I love this job, but with budget cuts all around I don't expect to last beyond June, so I may return to high school teaching next year." Tom has three children, ages 8,4 and 2.
Kim Hamer Hulse is living and working in Washington, D.C. She works part time for National Geographic, running special projects in their education foundation. Her part-time schedule enables her to spend more time with sons Nicholas (12) and Benjamin (9). She is enjoying being room parent, Cub Scout pack master and ultimate sports fan. Her husband, Carl, is a congressional correspondent for The New York Times. Kim keeps in touch with Mike Hatcher, who is a practicing attorney in Washington, D.C. Mike and his wife, Betsy, have three children, Daniel, Colleen and Kate.
