Greetings everyone. I want to apologize in advance for the dearth of information in this column. Prep time for this one was just before the holidays and I was not making too many information-gathering calls, I was on my gift-gathering trips to the malls. I will make it up next column. The theme of the next one will be sophomore summer memories. You may want to get a jump on composing your thoughts because you never know who or when I will call.
I do have a correction from the last column. Bill Connolly actually has three boys and a girl, not three girls and a boy as I reported last time. (No roughhousing going on over at the Connolly household).
A number of our class mates have let us know of new arrivals. Kaya Kazmirci writes that he and his wife, Evin, have welcomed their second child, a daughter named Selen Kazmirci. She was born on December 11, 2003, at the American Hospital in Istanbul. Their 4-year-old son is "getting used to sharing the limelight." Kaya works at Ernst and Young as an IT auditor. Monica Latini King and her husband, Al, welcomed their second son, Max, on October 23, 2003. He arrived five weeks early on the third birthday of his older brother, Andrew. Monica and her family reside on Kauai but had moved to Oahu for the delivery and were just settling in for a vacation during the final weeks of the pregnancy when Max temporarily "put an end to their fun in the sun." Congratulations to the expanding families.
I was happy to receive a letter from Tom Martinson with some information. He and his wife, Polly, have three children (lan, 9 years; Elsie, 7 years; and Owen, 5 years) and live in Milton, Massachusetts. Their children are in a local school French immersion program during the week and spend weekends in New London, New Hampshire, where they recently purchased a 1813 farmhouse. His kids are all on the ski team at Tenney Mountain. Tom does keep up with a large number of Dartmouth buddies, including Frank Polsinello, who is his stockbroker.
Thanks for the news that is beginning to trickle in.
