Bob Ehinger recently sent me a clipping from a New York area real estate publication headlined: "Greenwich retreat on market for 22.5 M." The property in question is Nipowin Island, which for many years belonged to the late Bus Mosbacher, described in the article as "the legendary yachtsman who won the America Cup in 1962 and 1967." The article went on to describe Bus' illustrious career.

Prior to Christmas I had brief telephone conversations with two West Coast classmates. First was Henry Keck, who had just retired officially from his company three days before. When I reached him at home he announced his annual physical produced a BP rating of 120 over 68! He still plays tennis, bike rides and is about to write a book on the 1,700 projects his company (Keck-Craig Inc.) was involved in during his 55 years at the helm. Last May he had been in Hanover as a guest lecturer at Thayer. We terminated the chat at that point as he had to attend a meeting! That reminds me that at a recent reunion Herb Marx raised the question: Did I know how many '43s were still working for a paycheck? I never pursued the matter with real fervor but if any of you today still fits that category how about dropping me a line or an e-mail. The first (snail mail) is preferred! Later I called George Shimizu, who sounded upbeat and still plays golf frequently. He mentioned seeing Russ Smith and wife Marie last September and tries to maintain contact with Jack Milburn. George, following a detached retina repair and on the advice of his kids, is planning a move to a San Jose, California, retirement spot. A football fan, he wanted to know what I thought of the Bengals and particularly their quarterback, Carson Palmer—a West Coast product.

Two statistics (accuracy questionable): 254 class members and 185 widows still living. Two recent deaths to report: Alan Frederick Grant and Sigurd D. Bjorkman. Our condolences to their families. Stay well!
