It is April 10 as I write these notes so the following stats will be out-of- date when you read this. Checking the obit records and taking into account deaths since the last column, 217 of our class of 654 are still hanging around. Not too bad for our age bracket. The recent losses are Howie Geer, Harry Lockwood, Bob Clark, Norm Smith, Richard Glover and Tony Farrell. Our condolences to their families.
In a recent chat with me, Bob Barnum outlined their travel plans: a late April visit to Florida, then an 11-day cruise on the Chesapeake and a July visit to Tanglewood.
Hugh Lena was at his now year-round home on Long Island Sound when I called and we reminisced about the class trip to Panama and Costa Rica—and Barbara and Val Vallerino's great contribution as our Panama hosts.
Bob Ehinger, just returned to Jersey from his Vero Beach, Florida, winter abode, reported some 100 alums were on hand for President Wrights remarks at a Vero site.
Bob mentioned that Bob Fuiks is in a retirement community in Vero and added that he and Joan stopped to see his old roommate Dick Livingston on their trip back to New Jersey. Dick is still writing articles on the subject of energy savings. When Bob mentioned roommates I reminded him that Bing Donaldson and I roomed together through college and Tuck.
We both agreed that Howie Leavitt might do some research on ex-roommates who are still around and keep in touch. How about it, Howie?
Keep well and remember our 65 th is September 28-30!
