ACHIEVEMENTS AND HONORS
Their contributions to human rights and equality throughout the world earned four alumni Martin Luther King Jr. Social Justice Awards from the College in February. Stephen Atwood '68, DMS'70, who received the Lester B. Granger '18 Award for Lifetime Achievement, is currently UNICEF's regional advisor for health and nutrition in East Asia and the Pacific. He has worked in international public health for more than 20 years, including six months as UNICEF's director of emergency operations in Indonesia following the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Allison Barlow '86 is deputy director of the Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health, where she manages outreach projects including suicide prevention, support of teen mothers and youth mentoring. Barlow also serves on the board of directors for the Baltimore Station, an addiction recovery center for homeless men. Renai Rodney '99, assistant U.S. attorney for the northern district of Illinois, is cofounder of Voices International, a mentoring project for adolescent girls in Chicago. She has also worked as an Equal Justice Works Fellow and with the Bluhm Legal Clinic, representing subsidized housing residents and unlawfully evicted tenants. Anne Sosin '02 was honored for her work on women's issues in Haiti, where she investigated abuses for the Institute for Justice and Democracy and researched small-arms control for Oxfam-UK. In 2005 she founded Haiti Rights Vision, which focuses on women's rights in the country.
