George Baine planned a visit to Hanover to celebrate his 90th birthday on April 17. He worked at the Hanover Inn as a busboy from 1938 to 1941 and he made a promise to return to the Inn porch, where the old grads sat and rocked overlooking the campus. George is legally blind and fights a few other health problems but I can vouch for his stamina on a daily basis in Red Bank, New Jersey.

Roy Rowan is writing a book about making the most of old age. He hit the pages of the April Smithsonian magazine with a guide to aging anything but gracefully. I can’t wait for the whole guide.

John Kelley’s secretary came to the phone. They are both here in Sarasota, Florida. John had to give up golf because of a bad hip but Marge is the golfer in the family. John’s grandson now owns the clubs that were John’s.

Monk Larson and his better half, Dickee, are enjoying their latest home in Flat Rock, North Carolina. Apparently the area is known for its cultural and artistic attractions in addition to its medical facilities. Dr. George Simpson and Tim Takaro are also living in the area.
