CLASS OF 1894
December, 1928 Henry N. Hurd

Matt and Mrs. Jones opened their doors to the class of 1894 for the fifteenth consecutive year, on the evening before the Harvard game. The evening was perfect, and everyone enjoyed it to capacity. Forty men were present, and we all had the pleasure of meeting Matt B. Jones, Jr., who is attending Harvard Law School. As it seemed fitting to give some token of our appreciation for what Mrs. Jones has done for us, a silver bowl was presented to her with this inscription—"To Grace Jones with grateful appreciation from Dartmouth '94." The following members were present: Adams, Allen, F. C., Allen, J. E., Ames, Bartlett, R. W., Berry, Brown, Burnap, Clogston, Colby, Dutton, Griffin, Hall, Ham, Hardy, Harris, Hodsdon, Howard, Hurd, Jones, Knowlton, Lewis, Lovejoy, Lyon, McGroty*- Mann, G. E., Marden, Matthews, Norris, Nutt, Palmer, Parker, Phillips, Sawyer, Sherman, Smalley, B. A., Smalley, F. L., Spooner, Stone, A. W., Stone, E. M. Among these, Burnap, Ham. Hodsdon, Lovejoy, and Matthews attended for the first time. Grover was unable to make schedule, but sent a characteristic poetical effusion, which was enjoyed, although no substitute for his living presence.

Arrangements were started for our thirty- fifth anniversary gathering. Concerning this, we will hear from Norris, Berry, and F. C. Allen in due time.
