There seems to be a bridal bug in the air again. All of a sudden you studs are taking romance seriously and, as a result, are falling easy prey to the thousands of attractive young ladies who are on the prowl for you. For instance, we all know that RonPicket evaded the tender trap for years by the supreme guile his considerable brainpower granted him. Yet he let his defenses down for just a few hours and . .. whammo ... he was snared by a lovely young stewardess for Pan Am named Gladys Del Valle of San Juan. Ron and his new wife will be living in New York where Ron manages the leasing department of the George Comfort Realty Company.
Another sturdy brave to bite the nuptial dust is Flying Cloud Jennings (we called him Bob). Flying Cloud and his squaw, one Falling Star (the Longknives call her Mary Lou Dizon), fasted for six days, ate 43 pounds of dried buffalo meat and tied leather thongs around their wrists in celebration of their thing. Actually, Bob and Mary Lou were wed in Los Angeles in a very un-Indian ceremony. They will be living in that area while Bob does something wonderful with his new MBA from UCLA.
Last month I reported the demise (as a bachelor anyway) of formerly shifty, independent, and carefree Larry Holden. Well, later reports indicate that I was unjust in accusing Holden of going gently into that last goodnight. Seems it took several strong backs to force him to his knees at the altar. From the Hanover plain came Randy Malin '59, Jim Biggs, and Gordy Aydelott '62. The happy Holdens are living in Cambridge.
John G. King, never one to let geraniums grow under his hush puppies, has just accepted a position as the administrator of the hospital of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. John has been with Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis as assistant administrator. Not bad for a graduate of Dick's House.
Speedy Bill Zeilman, once capable of running the hundred-yard dash in about 10 brief seconds has been outdistanced by Miss Jeanne Mackenzie of Chicago. Bill and Jeanne were wed last month in the bride's home town, I believe. They met whilst both were working in Hartford, Conn., for the Connecticut General Life Insurance Company. Bill probably had about worth of life insurance before, but watch him go now ... you bachelors never learn!
Denny Dinan has returned to Hanover to become assistant to the Secretary of the College. As such Denny will be responsible for aspects of the Alumni College, the Alumni Seminars, Class Newsletters, and the Bicentennial program. Denny and wife Sally White River.
Ken Kendall, now living in Rochester, N. H., is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the insurance agency founded by his grandfather. In addition to his insurance duties, Ken is chairman of the Local Red Cross Chapter and the Greater Rochester Development Corporation.
John Moxon and Miss Elizabeth Chiang were married in Taipei, Taiwan, Formosa last month. Elizabeth and John met when John was serving as Flag Lieutenant (USN) to the Commander of the United States Taiwan Defense Command. John, baby, as a friend, lemmee tell you. . . . Don't try to honeymoon on Quemoy or Matsu. A picnic, maybe, but not a honeymoon!!
Rapid Robert Harvey has been promoted to supervisor with the Richmond, Va., office of the Aetna Life & Casualty Company. The clipping didn't offer any more information than that. How 'bout it, Bob, what's really happening to you out there in Virginny???
A quick run-down on Who's Where, our neatsy monthly feature. The Whos's Where Cameras Turn to Madrid, Spain, to see Steve Bosworth as a Foreign Service Officer. Dr. Dave Gordin, a resident in Ranchos Los Amigos Hospital in Downey, Calif. ChipBoynton, a freight sales representative with the Grace Line in NYC. Jerry Cantril, studying for advanced degrees in Stillwater, Okla. Owen Clarke, a lawyer with Sullivan & Worcester in Boston. Andy Cohen, a demonstrator and March-For-Hire Sign Carrier when he isn't studying law at Stanford. (I'm just kidding, Mrs. Cohen, he's not really a demonstrator.) Jim Smith is an M.D. at the Duke University Radiology Department in Durham, N. C. Jack, "The Beaver," Kinder-dine has been found alive and well in Mi-amisburg, Ohio, where he toils away for the Delco Moraine Division of General Motors. Bill Hengst is a Project Coordinator for the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority. Also in Philly is Don Wells who teaches the little rascals Science at the William Penn Charter School. Jack Heyde is with Owens Corning in Memphis, Tenn. JanWyers is in San Francisco as a graduate student in Sociology. Bob Garrity is in San Francisco too, as a banker yet.
Well, swingers, that wraps up the very first column of this, our seventh year away from Fletcher's.
