A card from Tommy Harris gives his new address lor the winter. (See above.) Please note that Harris, not Newton, is our Class Treasurer.
Mrs. Stetson writes that she reached three score years and ten, July 20th, and that all the Stetson Clan celebrated the day. She also sends a Middleboro, Mass., newspaper
clipping which tells us that a portrait of George Ward Stetson has been hung in the main court room of the Fourth District Court in Middleboro. Representative George Ward Stetson, son of our "Stet," chose the place for the portrait at the rear of the court room opposite the bench. I also quote from this clipping that "Mr. Stetson was associate justice of the Fourth District Court from 1895 to 1900, and was Federal Referee in Bankruptcy in 1902 until his death in 1926." The Secretary, and perhaps others in '86, never knew that Stetson was a Judge as well as a noted school teacher.
Newton writes that Mrs. Newton, greatly enjoyed a week-end visit from a niece and nephew from Chicago—"Their visit acted as a tonic—but with no release from paralysis."
Newton also writes that he read BetterSee George to Mrs. Newton and "We enjoyed it immensely. Jim was certainly a New England David Harum." This copy which Mrs. Fowler sent to me has also been read by Wiswall, Kelly, and Ross; and is now on its way, via Rose, to all the other '86 men. We thank you, Mrs. Fowler, for making it possible for all of us in '86 to "See George" more clearly than ever.
