In correspondence with Mort French he expressed the hope that the list of fellows of the class who had never felt that they could contribute to the Alumni Fund would be whittled down this year. It seems as if the task which the College has performed during the war period is sufficient reason for participation in this year's drive. We are all proud to be numbered among "Men of Dartmouth," proud that the College is held in the highest esteem by other college men, and proud that President Hopkins feels that he can rely upon us as an Alumni body to help pull the College through a difficult period. Let me urge every member of our class to make some contribution now.

Probably this number of the MAGAZINE will reach you just in time to call to your mind that you have a date on May 11: 6:30 P.M. at Schraffts' in Boston—the Five Year Class Dinner.

William W. Grant of Denver writes that his son-in-law, Capt. Robin Hunter, commander of a company of Commandos, was killed on D-Day far behind the German lines and that Mrs. Hunter is a Red Cross worker in a hospital in London. His youngest boy, William W., Dartmouth '31, is a lieutenant commander in the Pacific. Edwin H. '30 is tied to a cattle ranch in Colorado, an irrigated farm of 2,00 a acres and an 800-cow dairy.

On April 3, 1945, Florence Mudge, wife of Dr. Otis P. Mudge of Araesbury, Mass., died suddenly at her home. Florence was so often with us at reunions, picnics and dinners that we all knew her well and her going will leave a void which cannot be filled. The class extends its deepest sympathy to "Oat" and to the family.
