"Craw" Bishop returned from Japan last June and was in New York recently trying to make connections to locate in Mexico City. I am sure "Craw" holds the record in the class for the time spent outside the U. S., living in nearly every country in the world. As far as my records go Craw also holds the record for the number of grand-children—(NlNE). His children are taking after their father also in moving about. One lives in Seattle, one in Florida, and two in Washington, D. C.

Charlie French started his thirty-eighth year of service in the Boston Latin School in September.

Freddie Welch reports that he had lunch with Leigh Martin in Portland this summer. The next day he visited with King Benton on his cherry ranch in Hood River.

Norm reports a substantial contribution from John Cromwell for the 50th Reunion Fund.

The class will be glad to know that our "Green Messenger" is now a grandfather. Bob's daughter, who by the way married a Princeton man, has a son, named Nickerson after her brother, Dartmouth '41, who was an army pilot in the last war. Hope Bob will convince him where he should go to college.

Bob Richardson writes that he bent his elbow several times with Dan Hatch in Montreal and, on his way back to New York, had a visit with Bob Wardwell in Boston. Also talked with Bill Bodwell on the phone.

Noble Bowlby and family spent their summer vacation in Nova Scotia.

Dan Hatch has entered the ranks of the newspaper columnists. The Montreal Financial Times of Sept. 26 carried a long article (written or at least signed with his by-line) on "Operation Export—No. 2." I haven't had time to read it but it looks like a good piece of promotion for the "World Trade Week" to be held in 1948. Dan is chairman of the National Committee.

Herb Ramie has moved his law office from 77 to 88 North Main St., Concord.

Phil Chase writes that his boy, Jim, who was to enter Dartmouth in 1949, suddenly dropped dead on the tennis court last April. Our sincerest sympathy is extended to Elizabeth and Phil.
