This college year is rapidly drawing to a close and consequently, in less than another month, the large majority of those '46's still on campus will complete their association as undergraduates in the College. As most of you know our class will be the largest one in the Alumni organization, but at the same time it is one of the most poorly organized. This fact is to be expected, because our class and the Class of 1945 were the two most disrupted by the war. At this time an effort is being made to organize our class and place it on as firm a standing as the other classes in the Alumni Association. The three members of the Class Executive Committee—NickVorys, Jim Coleman, and Reg Pierce—who are still on campus are meeting this month with Hal Bowman, Class Secretary, Bob Kimball, Class Treasurer, and Bob Hunt, NewsLetter Editor, to map out plans to organize the class as a well-knit unit in the Alumni Association. Our first real reunion is only three years away, so this group will also attempt to lay down the ground work for this before they leave college this Spring.

Now let's get on to a little news about our Class It has just been announced that Wilbur Bull has been elected captain of next year's ski team. That means that a '46 has held this captaincy for two years running now. Wil took the position over from MaiMcLane. Skiing is just a bit out of season at this time, but in passing I might mention that this year's team was completely dominated by '46's with five men in the regular line-up. Besides the above-mentioned, Griff Lombard,Sandy Treat, and Lowell Thomas Jr., also served impressively in competition. Griff and Sandy will also be back again for another season Believe it or not, 01' Ted Fajen is on a diet. Like some of the rest of us he seems to be putting on a bit of weight and is now a far cry from that towering slim figure that put in an appearance on the campus. Ted is working back into shape by playing a lot of golf—his other favorite pastime. He started the season over during the spring recess by working in a week of golf at Pinehurst.. .. John "Sundown" Lesher has just been divorced for the third time and according to Lesh his trouble stems directly from the fact that he failed to take Sociology 34 while in college Dave Whipple will sail for Europe at the end of June and will spend the summer studying in Southampton, England. .... We see that Milt Cooper has just been awarded his M.D. degree by the Cornell University Medical School and is now interning at the Mary Hitchcock Hospital HowieSamuel, last year's editor of The Dartmouth, recently became engaged to Ruth Helen Zamkin of New York. Howie is now attending the Graduate School of History of Columbia University. From the "Dartmouth's In Town Again" board over there in the Inn we noted that F. R. Friedlander and Bob Ellis were around town last month.

One recent news item that came as a very pleasant surprise to all was the marriage of Sue Neidlinger and Mai McLane. Sue is the daughter of the Dean and is now enrolled at Mt. Holyoke. The McLanes are sailing for Europe in the early fall where Mai will continue his studies.

The Class held its annual Beer Bust .up in the Bema on May g and despite the numerous hour examinations and conflicting softball games proved to be quite successful—especially later in the evening. A few of the many present were: Abe Hinman, Bob Shade, FredWilmot, Bob Hunt, Reg Pierce, Bud Scheu,Gene Bokor, Bob Hooper and his lovely wife, and many others. Sidney C. Hayward, Secretary of the College, spoke on class organization, as well as the role we would play as alumni. The beer flowed freely and well into the night.

This just about brings this column to a close for another month, so until then take care and please pass on any information you hear on any '46's.
