As these notes go to press this month wefind that another semester has slipped awayand the major items of interest in andaround Hanover are skiing and Winter Carnival—and of course all that go along withthem. Now let's look in at what some of themembers of our Class are doing.

Whitey Campbell just arrived back in town after his trip to the Olympic games with the AAU Hockey team. The team didn't get a chance to play much hockey, but Whitey reports that they had a grand time in Switzerland Dave Andrew is now back in college after four years in the Marines. Mary Norton Maddox of Atlanta, Ga., and Dave announced their engagement over the Christmas holidays Mai McLane and Harlan Brumsted were recently named as two of the five judges who will have the very pleasant task of picking this year's Carnival Queen See Bob Hunt around quite a bit and he manages to keep himself pretty busy between his managerial position with the DCAC, the Under-Graduate Council, and the '46 Newsletter Dave Whipple was one of the three men chosen by the Sociology Department for Senior Honors. Congratulations, Dave.

The letters from our Class members are rather slow in coming in, but gradually they are increasing. Received a nice letter from Hank Dierks. Hank is living in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey, and all seems to be going well with him. He is working for Socony Vacuum Oil Company in New York and was recently promoted to office manager of the National Accounts Department. Hank reports that Bob "Doggie" Lyons is working on Wall Street for White Weld. Andy Gruninger was in New York working for Haskin & Sells but is now transferred to their Newark Branch Office. Hank also mentioned that he saw Les Bowser over the Columbia-Dartmouth weekend and that Les is striving for his C.P.A. The engagement and wedding announcements are still rolling in and congratulations and best wishes are in order for the following: John McNamara and Ella Judd Mitchell announced their engagement during the Christmas recess. As yet the wedding date has not been set Bob Tilden and Barbara Giles were married on December 27, in Melrose, Mass. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Kimball took part in the ceremony Horace Macartney is now engaged to Jane Baker of Manhasset, N. Y. The wedding should be taking place shortly after Jane graduates from Skidmore in June Jim Torian took enough time off from his work in Chicago to become en- gaged to Ariel Tatman. The wedding is planned for the late spring Another be- trothal announcement that just came in is that of Colin Gunn to Mary Elizabeth Hun- ter of New Haven, Conn. Colin is now a member of the Dartmouth Club of New York Johnny Curry and Patricia Jean Medlar were married early in December. The couple honeymooned in Bermuda and, at present, are making their home in Fleetwood, New York. Johnny is now attending Columbia.

Ted Southworth has been living rather adventurously and is now sailing a 26-foot yawl from Vancouver down the West Coast and around to the Atlantic Seaboard. After his graduation in June, Ted joined forces with Joe Bartlett and they made their way up to Alaska. Here they worked in the coal mines, gold mines, and shipyards, where they were able to save enough money to finance their cruise. They purchased a rundown yawl at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club in Canada and after doing a complete overhaul set out to sea. This should prove to be quite an interesting adventure—what I hear from the fellows in the Class down there in Tuck School, I'd say that about this time most of them wish they were about three miles off the West Coast.

While the majority of us are freezing in this sub-zero Hanover weather, Spence Smith and Gene Bokor are making the most of this brief recess before Carnival and are basking in the Florida sunshine. Spence graduated in February and will probably be working in New York.

This winds it up for another month, so until then take care and please send in a little information as to what you all are doing, even if you aren't the president of a couple of corporations yet.
