The annual luncheon for entering fresh- men and their fathers held at the University Club on September 18 brought out 77 men, about evenly divided between freshmen, freshman dads and local alumni. Vic Smith 'l7, our vice-president, presided at the luncheon. Vic introduced Bill Stewart '52, the principal speaker. Following a not very good Dartmouth-Penn game on October 6, the Philadelphia Club sponsored a very, very good cocktail party at The Penn-Sheraton Hotel. There must have been better than 200 Dartmouth men, their ladies and guests at the party; and those folks proved that a little thing like a football defeat doesn't dampen the spirit of the Green one iota. When we left at 8 P.M. the party was still in progress.
