The date for '31's reunion has been set... June 13, 14, 15. Why not give yourself a Christmas present by starting your reunion kitty right now so you'll be sure that when the time comes, the exchequer is in shape for the '31 get-together in Hanover? Speaking of exchequers, how about getting those dues in? Had lunch with Bill Schuldenfrei recently and he tells me a lot of you are making it tough for him by neglecting to send in that government engraving of Lincoln. A treasurer's life is hard enough when everything's going good, but it gets uncomfortable when he has to keep dunning you for that five bucks.
Dick Henry is back in Scarsdale with the Mrs. and the four Henry-ettes for a hiatus after three and one-half years in Singapore for National City Bank. He's scheduled to leave early next year for his new assignment in Manila. Dick looks as trim as a schoolboy, so it might not be true that travel is broadening.
Have word that Chuck Mendell, professor of English at Rollins College in Florida, has been elected Acting Dean. A note from him says: "If Al McLean and Skip Clow don't show up for the reunion next summer, I shall tell all about their four years at Dartmouth."
Ernie Moore pens that he sat with TomWilliams and family at the Penn game and chatted with Frank Quinn between halves. Parker Soule was there, too, but Ernie apparently didn't see him. Forgot to give you Jim Lawton's address in the October column so here it is: 4077 East 18th Street, Oakland i, Calif.
A post card from Walt Hausman in TelAviv, on one leg of his good-will trip for Schaefer through Israel, Italy and France with the All-Star American Soccer team. Last year it was Ireland, England, etc., and he gets paid, too!
Dave Toomey is seriously ill in St. Luke's Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio, Room 3056. Why not drop him a line so he will know everybody remembers and is wishing him a speedy recovery?
An official release from the Office of Price Stabilization says: "Jack Weisert has resigned as special assistant and is returning to private industry with Magnavox." Mr. and Mrs. Hal Radin announce a 7pound, 11-ounce John Lawrence, who voiced his first Wah-Hoo-Wa-a-a-a-a October 8.
Johnny Nelson wonders if everybody else has changed, too,... and intends to find out come reunion. With his check for $5, EdElmer reports: "I'm just back from another tour in the Pacific." How about more news on that junket? Sam Taylor prophesies his oldest boy will be ready for the Class of '58 and thinks maybe he had better introduce him to Hanover Plains next June 13, 14, 15.
Memos from Jack Reno, Russ Beckwith,Sam Groves, Bill Benger, Beany Thorn, VicKing, Si Leach, all singing the praises of the swell job Bill Schuldenfrei has done for us during the past six years. Those plaudits have been well earned ... so let's make it 100% on class dues as the right kind of send-off for an efficient, long-suffering but always helpful class treasurer.
And... a very Merry Christmas to everybody. See you next year.
