News for this past month centers about the traditional Dartmouth-Harvard game and weekend. For us Bostonians it is easy to look back over the recent short span of years to recall the frantic last-minute arrangements in Hanover getting everything ready for the Peerade—clothing, dates, transportation, accommodations, etc.—all of which is still a very large weekend for the undergraduates. We continue to see annually the influx of students into this area, and living here in Wellesley you can bet your bottom dollar there'll be at least 50 cars buzzing around with Dartmouth stickers plastered on the windows.

This year, as you know, the Boston groups held various gatherings and our class joined in with '36 and '3B for a cocktail luncheon that was highly successful. First in were Nancy and Marsh Roper, down from Springfield, with plans to meet Herb Pickering, who showed shortly thereafter. Herb is still single and working for Polaroid in Cambridge as a buyer of metals and traveling around the country a good deal. In fact he maintains frequent contact with J. C. Penney's silent cotton yard-goods buyer Mr. John Maloon, who ha.s a fine bachelor penthouse in New. York at the Beaux Arts Apts., which we understand is just six blocks from his office. But does he walk to work every morning? Not on your life. That Kapitalist Peeg, he drives the six blocks in his Buick Riviera.

Next in came Carl and Ruth Ray, Carl having talked his boss into the trip "for business reasons." They must have sold everything they brought as there were no signs of any typewriters anywhere. Then Kay and RalphGriffith. Ralph had tried to talk other Providence members into coming and was success- ful in getting Win Taft and wife Jane to join in. Win is still with Ditto, Inc., and found recently that he has a near neighbor of FredMayo in Barrington, R. I. George and PegRoewer, Al and Sherry Bryant, Al and Mildred Mclntyre and Dot and Monk Anion made up the balance of '37ers attending. Mclntyre (for the record) has been on the wagon for several months, looks fine, and didn't lick his chops once—must have nerves of steel.

We understand from conversations there that Phil Conti is with a Real Estate outfit in Washington, D. C., and that Dana Prescott bought a house there through Phil's concern. Also Walt Heer had been in Boston all the preceding week at a printing convention but had to leave the night before the game to return to Columbus—otherwise would have attended.

There was probably much other news available there but your cement-head scribe, as usual, got a couple of rye and waters under the belt and stopped taking any more notes. It was agreed however, that the party was a "must" and will be established as an annual affair—so make your next year's plans accordingly. There were about 75 people between the three classes attending.

This is the month that the ALUMNI MAGAZINE gives a full report on last spring's Alumni Fund Drive. Thanks are certainly in order to Al Bryant and all the assistant agents who helped to bring in more dollars this year than '37 has ever contributed before. It is also quite a tribute to the college that her alumni give so generously of their time and money each year to continually exceed the ever-increasing goals.

The questionnaires are still coming in, so, if you have yours and have not sent it in, please do so. OR, being as this is December, how about asking wifey again to put me down on your Xmas card list and have HER write a bit of news. We especially like those cards with family photos as they reproduce very nicely in this MAGAZINE.

Happy Holidays
