You'll all probably be too engrossed conniving with your tax consultants to read this, so we'll slice it like the balogna, real thin.

Looks like we did O.K. again on the collection of class dues. Speaking for Gus, thanks very much.

From Pasadena comes word that Ed Eubanks has been named as an assistant information director of the Ford Foundation. formerly a newspaper man in Vermont and California, Ed has been publicity director of the Tournament of Roses and the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce for the past two years. Ed, Sue and the kids, Ellen and Laura, will continue to live in California.

Had a call from Washington at midnight last week. I was sure that Uncle Joe had finally dropped one. Next thing to it, though. "Rock" and Dottie Davidson were giving "Hose" and Liz Craig another farewell party ... this time for their transfer to Fort Riley. Soigne as ever, The Rock seems to have the Confusion District well in hand, and only expressed concern over the fact that their boxer pup was growing faster than son Jim. Dick Pleasants (Cluette Peabody) had just been transferred from Chicago to Washington and was on hand to cheer the military on their way. "Hose" had a chance to get together with Lt. Dick Whiting before Dick shuffled off for Operation Snowdrop.

Dr. Dave Brown, another of our distin- guished pediatricians, has opened an office in Darien, Conn. And like the other rascals is a strong supporter of the industry. He and Dottie have three youngsters, Janet, 5, Nancy, 3, and Dave Jr., 11 mos.

Things are good in the insurance field too. Pink and Ro Corroon joined the celebrated Society of the Hat Trick when their third youngster Margaret was born on January 30. Not much from the war fronts this month.

We did hear that Capt. Bob Wiley is over in Europe with a Clearing Company attached to the 43rd Infantry Division. Jim Rudnick is out now, and is associated with a Veterans Building Supplies outfit in Pass-a-Grille, Fla.

Dr. Charlie Pierce has joined the Ellsworth Medical Group Staff in Chester, Vt., where he will continue to specialize in ... (better go over this slowly) ... Oph-thal-mology. Hope that's a clean word.

Len Landry has settled down to a teaching job in Red Lodge, Mont. Heard that GeorgePulakos is out in Albuquerque, but know of no good reason why. What with the Arabs acting up the way they are, Socony-Vacuum has sent Ren Smith and his divining rod to Morroco, Africa ... which is about as com- forting as being transferred from the Bowery to Hell's Kitchen.

Bill and Rusty Hirens presented daughter Molly, 4, with a little brother on January 24. Young Allen Russell scaled in at 7 lbs., 2¼ oz.

Bill Hale and pretty Ruth Rochow of Rochester announced their engagement on January 9. No definite plans yet, but Bill's working on it.

Recently the Fred Daleys, Jack Landon,Fred Page and Joe Goldstein managed to sneak back to Hanover for a short visit.

Sorry the column is so short this month. Will try to scratch up something for next time. I sure wish one of you guys had married that Egyptian belly dancer.. . would make for a pleasant topic of discussion each month.
