The word hasn't reached us yet on the political fortunes of Paul Vaitses, candidate for Mayor of Melrose, Mass., and Ed McLaughlin, candidate for the Boston City Council. We understand that Eddie's feat of getting himself nominated was the more remarkable since another character with same name obviously nabbed some of his rightful votes. One political item we are up to date on, however, is the current incumbency of Bob Waldron as head man of the Young Republicans of Wayne County (Detroit, Mich.). Maybe Ike could use a little '42 assistance at this point.

In addition to information on the Massachusetts political picture, Dick Lee also reports that Bob Myers is in the advertising department at the Liberty Mutual Life Insurance Cos. and that Bob Leske '41 survived the birth of his second child last fall.

From all reports the parties were much happier than the game over the Holy Cross weekend. The Charlie Browns organized one group of merry-makers which included the Rit Godfreys, freys, the Bob Taylors, the Sid Bulls, the Johnny Valkevichs, the Ed Hawkridges, and the Ad Winships.

George Clark, the squire of Carlisle, has added a couple of horses to his stable this year. His most important addition, however, is the baby girl to go with his three boys.

In Littleton, N.H., people are ringing the bells and blowing the horns "Senator" Hill has come into his own! Bob has been made ambassador to Costa Rica. He was formerly clerk, of the Senate banking committee and has served in the foreign service in India, Ceylon, Burma, and China. Most recently he was assistant vice president in Washington for W. R. Grace and Cos.

The Ed Moodys have had big doings in the past few months. E. F. III, their first, put in his appearance in August, and in November, Ed II became an account executive with the Hartford ad agency, G. F. Sweet and Cos. Ed had formerly been an editor with a publishing house (Wiley) in New York.

Congratulations and best wishes are in order for Eileen and Joe McCormick married in New Haven in October. She is the former Eileen E. O'Neill of Orange, Conn.

Dave Teahan, eminent Holyoke dentist, has been awarded a Certificate in nitrous-oxide anesthesia and oral surgery from Tufts College Dental School, Division of Post-Graduate studies. Rollie Wilhelmy is the new assistant principal at* the Windsor, Vt., High School.

For the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, Major William F. Enos recently participated in research on Korean casualties, the results of which were published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. It reported that 75% of a group of young Americans killed in action in Korea had arteriosclerosis hardening of the arteries.

Trum Huntington opened the new Huntington's Book Store in Middletown Conn., last October. Trum was sales manager for Howell, Soskin, and for Johns Hopkins Press before going into business for himself.

Margaret and Bob Blood use a practical method of keeping their friends informed about the Blood family activities in Ann Arbor, Mich., where Bob is teaching at the University of Michigan. They send out a periodic mimeographed report. Their Number One interest now is their new home complete with a big guest room waiting to be put to use. The whole Blood family spent last summer at the University Fresh Air Camp where Bob represented the Sociology Department in an interdepartmental teaching program for the student-counselors.

It must be that Charlie Sturz is trying to ease the postmen's lot, because this year he is sending only two notices for the $5 class dues. However, don't feel shy about mailing in your check to Charlie if you haven't already done so. I have it on good authority that Charlie's postman at his new Birmingham address (see above) not only has broad shoulders but a jeep, too! Incidentally, we're hoping that enough of you send back my postcards with your news items for us to have to borrow said jeep to handle the avalanche. 1942 Fund Contributors
