Eastern Middlesex members of the Melrose Dartmouth Club attended the annual dinner meeting on October 29 at the Bellevue Golf Club, and featured the guest speaker, Dean of the College Joseph L. McDonald, who spoke of the higher education situation in New England, in general, and at Dartmouth in particular.
After a social hour and a turkey dinner, the meeting was opened with the introduction of Clarence Paddock 'OO of Melrose, member of the earliest class represented. A moment of silence was observed in memory of three men who died during the year, CharlesHaynes '27, J. Lauris Jones '17, and FrankRowe '91
The election produced the following omcers for 1953-1954: Francis M. Austin '24, president; Paul S. Vaitses Jr. '42, vice president; Horace E. Dalrymple '20, secretary, all of Melrose; and Alan S. Foster 45' treasurer, of Wakefield.
The attendance prize was won by the class of 1942. An interesting meeting for high school students of the area was promised for the Christmas holidays.
