In 1954, four members of the Class reached 75 years of age: Woodman (1/12), Dodd (3/4), Prescott (6/16), Bigelow (9/21). Jackson, the youngest member of the class, reached his 75th birthday on May 21.

Nat Morse's daughter Mary, who is a major in the U. S. Army Medical Service, presently stationed at a field hospital in Germany, was home on leave in May and visited her mother and sister Nancy in GofEstown, N. H. Her tour of duty in Germany has been shortened to two years so that she expects to be returned to the U. S. by May 1956 for re-assignment here. Nat's widow has been an invalid in recent years. It is with regret that we note her death on September 16 at the family home in Goffstown.

The following are the careers of the twentyone men who made Phi Beta Kappa:

Clergy - Bradley and Dunlap (also life insurance); Law — J. M. Fowler, Ham (also banking and politics), Mahoney and Sampson; Teaching - Hastings (also business), Howe, Keyes (also college administration and magazine editing), F. C. Lewis, Proctor, L. B. Richardson, Roberts, Sanborn, and F. D. Sears; Medicine - Hatch and Weston; Engineering - Norris and Sargent; Publishing - Metcalf; College Administration - Tibbets.

Ben Prescott, who is quite a Dartmouth football fan, made inquiry as to whether Harvard had played at Hanover before the season of 1955. The answer is yes. In 1884 (H. 29-D. o) and 1946 (H. 21-D. 7) and in 1893 a Harvard second team assisted in the dedication of "Alumni Oval," a tie score resulting.

Robert S. Alexander (Amherst '39, Ph.D., Princeton '42), husband of Paddock's daughter Eleanor, in July '55 was appointed a full professor and head of the Department of Physiology at the Albany (N. Y.) Medical School, which is associated with Union University. With five children, their home is in Delmar, N. Y. Eleanor was graduated from Mount Holyoke (Phi Beta Kappa) in '37 and awarded a Master's degree in 1940.
