Columbia, Princeton Weekends: On Saturday afternoon, November 5, right after the final signalled the 14-7 victory of the Big Green over the Light Blue of Columbia, many hundreds of Dartmouth alumni, their wives, dates and guests, made their way to the Dartmouth Club of New York, where the triumph was celebrated in open house fashion. A mighty fine time was had by one and all; this biennial visit of the team to Manhattan has become a most popular occasion.

On the eve of the Princeton game, a chowder party for the gents only was held at the Club. Steaming bowls of chowder, hot coffee, frosty beer and dessert constituted the menu, on an all-you-can-consume basis; several hundred alumni took advantage of this unique new occasion. Highlight of the evening was the showing of films of the 1955 varsity and freshman teams in action, narrated by Capt.Leo McKenna '56. Congratulations go to JohnVincens '39 and his entertainment committee for adding this delightful affair to the Club calendar.

New Board. Takes Over: The new Board of Governors of the Dartmouth Club of New York consists of the following slate: President, Jack D. Gunther '29; Vice President, Henry R.Bankart '35; Secretary, Donald B. Hopkins '26; Treasurer, A. S. Cunningham '33; Governors, Carl Funke '35, Herbert Ball '29, MortimerBerkowitz '37, George Farrand '33, JackVincens '39, John Foster '23, Charles McAllister '31, Dick Holbrook '31, and Ralph Smith '46.

Holiday Tea Dance Coming: On the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, December 28, the annual Holiday Tea Dance will be held at the Dartmouth Club. This annual affair has become the stellar attraction of the Club's social calendar; as usual, all alumni, their wives, dates and guests are most cordially welcome. There'll be music for your dancing pleasure, of course; plan to be there.

Here and There: At this writing, New York alumni were looking forward eagerly for the joint Dartmouth-Penn-Columbia Glee Club Concert to be held at Carnegie Hall on the evening of December 2, the first in a series sponsored by the newly-formed Ivy League Musical Activities Council. Open house at the Club is to follow.

A thorough renovation and brightening of the entire upstairs sections of the Club has been accomplished through the efforts of CarlFunke '35 and his hard-working house committee. Well done, fellas.

An organization worthy of note has emerged in lower Manhattan. Through the efforts of Perry Davis '54 and Bob Jones '46, the Dartmouth Downtown Diners, consisting largely of those bankers, lawyers, and brokers who find it difficult to reach the mid-town Club at noontime, is now in business. Three highly successful luncheons have been held, and will continue on a monthly basis; about fifty has been the average attendance. It is hoped that the major luncheon programs scheduled by the Club during the year can be extended in such a way as to benefit this organization. All those interested should contact Perry Davis at WOrth 4-4151.

Remember, 37 East 39th Street is Dartmouth in Manhattan, and there's always good fellowship to be found behind the Green Door. Be sure to stop in whenever your travels bring you to the big city; we'll be delighted to see you and to serve you. There are rooms for transients, at the most convenient location imaginable; and of course the dining rooms and bar are a constant source of pleasure. See you here.
