The April showers are rapidly bringing up the spring flowers and it's time for another short visit with your red-faced reporter and you wild Hanoverians from '51. I say "red faced" because in our February scribble we announced the engagement and almost the nuptials of John Higley and Marcia Ackerman. To set things straight in the family, and to straighten out any totally confused friends or relatives an apology in correction is in order. Marcia was the bride, brother Dick Higley of '49 the bridegroom and innocent John, the best man. Perhaps the article we received got the names twisted up - at any rate, some good came of the whole thing, since we found out that John is now in Pearl Harbor. Thanks to brother Dick for setting us straight with the world.

Some of our eastern groundhogs report that Bill Mulligan has tunnelled his way back to the States, after spending some time in Formosa and Japan. "Muggs" is usually working for the secret service, and therefore information is rather hard to come by, as to his exact location, but he was in Washington, and we believe this month or last, was due for a trip to the far east again. Wife, Noreen and the baby, female, I believe, are staying in Rhode Island. If you haven't already done so, let's congratulate Ray Mullin on his December marriage to Barbara Duncan. The well-known ceremony took place in Durham, N. H. It's always good news to hear of those lucky '51ers who have hit the tall grass of the Hanover Green once again. We recently learned that Alan Brout and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Heyman were the lucky winners of a trip to Hanover. Across the blue seas, we hear that Chris Fuller is an auditor with the 8th Army at Camp Zama, Japan. Private Chris entered the Army in 1953.

Heartiest congratulations to Fulbright Scholar at the University of London, EdMansfield, and Lucille Howe, who had their vows read in London in February. Lucille hails from Bainbridge, Md., and is an alumna of Duke University. Ed seems to be getting a good deal of publicity lately, but more power to anyone agile enough to keep in the news. Gerald Shaw hit the rank of office manager in the Albert J. Tonry & Co. of Boston. Best wishes, and if anyone knows in what business this firm is engaged, please shoot us a card.

Anyone needing a capable mouthpiece in the judge advocate general's office at Wright Patterson field, please look for a husky fellow about 5' 6" in any of the local pubs. JeffO'Connell was recently commissioned a Ist It. in the Air Force reserves, and since December 31 has been at Wright Patterson. Nason Hurowitz was honored recently by being elected president of the senior class at the Mass. College of Pharmacy. Wilson Cross and Joan Kemp donned the old wedding uniforms for their February ceremony in New York. Cheers to this happy couple. Let's all raise the stein to Bill Pardee and his newly acquired fiancee, Janet Companion. Janet is a Clark University grad, and has the distinction of being listed in the 1954 edition of Who's Who AmongStudents in American Universities and Colleges. At last word, she was working for the National Shawmut Bank of Boston, where Bill is also an employee.

Some of us hate to think of the time of the year when the shekel raisers come knocking on our door, but none of us mind squeezing out some of that hard-earned lettuce for such a worthy cause as our own Dartmouth. GaryMansur is about ready to unleash 54 of the wildest, money-raisingest Class Agents ever assembled on the face of the globe. Gary just banged home the astounding fact that only three out of four of us have been tossing into the pile. On the face of it, this doesn't sound bad, but who is that fourth man? No one can question the cause, so when Gary and company come crashing over the wall April 1, let's make it 100%.

We regret very much the brevity of this month's notes. However, a severe illness in the family limits the time at hand. Next month, we'll really pound your ear. So long, DAVE.
