My scout reported these people posted on the Hanover Inn guest bulletin board at one time or another during February: the PaulPeters, the Jim Hamiltons, Les Richwagon,Bob Clark and Shaw Livermore.

At the annual meeting of the New England Hardware Dealers Association at Boston in early February, Herm Carlisle was elected one of the directors.

Under a picture of the attractive brideto-be, a February issue of the Boston Herald carried word of the announcement by the Elmer Ardiffs of the engagement of daughter Nancy Jean to Richard N. Boulter. Nancy Jean is a graduate of Colby College. The prospective groom, a graduate of Massachusetts Maritime Academy and Boston University, served as a naval officer in World War II.

The engagement of Miss Harriet Hazeltine to Roger C. Cramton was announced recently. The son of Dr. and Mrs. Edward A. Cramton, Roger was graduated from Harvard and is preparing* for the Unitarian ministry at the Meadville Theological School. Miss Hazeltine, also, is at Meadville Theological doing graduate work in religious education. She is a Wellesley graduate.

Ten of us were able to get out to the annual Alumni Dinner here in Boston on February 26. As usual, Bob Hight and Dick Willis contributed to the success of the orchestral music. Clark Bristol came down from Manchester with Dick. From nearby were Bill Mann, FranLeland, Larry Farnham, Carter Hoyt, HaskellCohn, Len Morrissey and your scribe. Haskell was elected to the executive committee of the Boston Alumni Association during the business part of the meeting.

Another 1922 son who has elected the ministry is Michael Zuckerman and his choice to follow in his dad's footsteps must make Harvie very happy indeed. In making the decision, Michael abandoned plans for a career in music. A pre-theology student at Bard College, he hopes to enter Virginia Theological Seminary.

At a meeting in Hollywood, Fla., last November, Bill Rex of Clark Dodge & Co. was elected to the board of governors of Investment Bankers Association.

Not long ago I had a nice letter from FrankHutchins written at his new address, 29 Lyme Road, Hanover. It seems that Frank, in common with so many others of us, has long cherished the dream of returning to Hanover to live. Unlike the rest of us, Frank up and did it. Since graduating, Frank has been engaged in his own advertising agency at Rochester, N. Y. Last August he resigned the presidency of his company and retired. Whereupon he and Patty with daughters Dotty and Betty proceeded to convert a dream to reality.

If any have memoir material concerning the late Professor John M. Poor it will be gratefully received by his daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Poor Middleton of Lenox, Mass., who hopes to build a collection out of the recollections of Professor Poor's faculty associates, his former students and his Hanover friends.

You have received Gene's first communication on the bequest program. Again I urge every one to give it earnest consideration and give it a place in his estate planning.

The returns are in from the ballots that were sent to those who had made deposits toward a class book. The 25th Reunion Fund won a decisive victory. Carroll has sent the College a check for credit to that Fund which now stands with a total of $31,000.

These notes are being written practically on the eve of my departure for Hanover to attend the class Father and Son weekend, a report of which will have to await the May issue.

There is nothing probably that would be more rewarding or stimulating to Jim Hamilton in connection with his new office of Class Agent than highly successful results in his first year. The class is indebted to Jim, as it has been indebted to his predecessors in this time-consuming task, and I can think of no better way to show him our appreciation than by contributing so generously to the current Alumni Fund as to assure such results. There is a way to lighten his burden and that is by contributing early. When you read these notes the campaign will be in full flower. After considering carefully the financial need of the College, please act liberally and promptly.

NEW CLASS AGENT: Jim Hamilton, 1922 fund raiser, is shown with his wife Sally and daughter Cynthia, who always enjoy a return to Hanover, their home when Jim was a member of the Dartmouth faculty and later superintendent of Mary Hitchcock Hospital.
