General Snow to be GOP candidate for State Senator
Conrad E. Snow of Gilmanton Iron Works, N. H., announced October 1 his candidacy at the Republican primaries in September '60 for the office of State Senator from the sixth district. Connie is affiliated with the Laconia, N. H., law firm of Nighswander, Lord and Bownes. Good luck, Connie.
A short note from "Heinle Urion" advised that he had a grand visit with Chris andLyme Armes and Katherine and Connie Snow this September when he had occasion to visit his oldest son in Rochester, N. H. He and Irma are planning a trip to Hanover to see the Cornell game, November 14.
At the Brown game Oclober 10 the following 1912'ers were there, Katherine and Connie Snow, Barbara and Bud Hoban, Grace and Art Burnham, Bertha and Queeche French, Jimmie Steen and his son James Jr.. Florence and Roy Lewis, Marie and Charley Gateley, Randy Burns, Clyde Cooke and Ben Adams. Following the game the group reassembled in Lebanon, N. H.. for a cocktail party at the home of Grace and Art Burnham followed by a buffet supper at the home of Florence and Roy Lewis where they were joined by Alice Day and Betty (Lewis) and Don Taber '41. Before he joined our party Don Taber had put in quite a day as Mayor of Lebanon officiating at the ceremonies inaugurating construction of the new 5500-foot runway for the Lebanon Regional Airport which now becomes an important spot on the U. S. Air Map.
We regret to advise that Henry Van Dyne has been transferred from the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Penna., to the Arnett Ogden Hospital in Elmira, N. Y„ where he has been fighting off double pneumonia and coronary thrombosis. His condition has been extremely critical and we sincerely hope for news of his steady improvement.
Understand the Norton P. Webbers of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Lynn, Mass., were touring New England this summer and just did miss the big 1912 get-together at Connie Snow's on August 22.
Katharine and Cliff Sugatt just returned from their summer trip to Italy and France on the S.S. Constitution arriving New York City, October 26.
Randy Burns, Florence and Roy Lewis drove over from White Plains recently to spend a weekend with Bess and your Secre- tary for a bit of golf and a lot of relaxation at the Colonia Country Club. The following Tuesday Florence and Roy flew down to I exas to spend some time with Frances andGuy Lewis at their home in San Antonio. Warren Brunner finally pulled up stakes in Washington, D. C., and now resides at 166 North Main Street, Geneva, N. Y., with his family.
Marion and Mark Snow after several days in Buffalo, N. Y., this September attending the Supreme Council of the Ancient Scottish Rite (33rd degree) Masons motored to Cape Cod for a ten-day stay.
Chris and Lyme Armes, after a most strenuous summer in Northwood Center, N. H.. keeping a close check-up on 1912'ers, motored to Boston for the Harvard game so Chris, as he claims, could attend some bridge-luncheon "wing ding" of the Dartmouth Woman's Club while he checked notes with EddieLuitwieler, how about that?
Invitations were sent out by Basil O'Connor in the New York area to attend a dinner meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Fund Committee to be held in the Coral Room of the Hotel Astor November 24, to discuss plans for the i960 Alumni Fund. Hope to be there and see quite a few from our class.
The exodus for Florida and the land of sunshine has started with Barbara and BudHoban who are "trailing" to their new house in Hollywood. They should be followed closely by Sheila and Elwyn Taber who will again be at the Howard Seabreeze Court in St. Augustine.
