Recently Bob Henderson was appointed Social Chairman for the Class by the Executive Committee. I'll let his own words tell you what lies ahead:

As you know, the purpose of the Class Social Program is to improve the already wonderful class spirit and cohesiveness through frequent '53 social affairs throughout the country. I am coordinating the program for the Executive Committee and have asked a number of men in various locations to assist me as Regional Social Chairmen. Chairmen have been or will be appointed in Boston, New Haven, Hartford, New York, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Things have moved so fast that the Los Angeles group had a party on February 28 at the Chairman's house - Tony Frank. In addition to the fast moving Los Angeles crowd, the New York group plans to have a class dinner in the near future and I believe Fred Carleton is drawing the blueprints for a Memorial Day affair in Boston. The Executive Committee feels that this program has a great deal of merit. In fact we feel that it is so important that small sums of class funds will be made available to local social events to help defray expenses.

- Sounds like a terrific program, Bob, that is already off the ground and helping to perpetuate those intangible qualities that mark our class and its association with all that is Dartmouth.

WHO IS ON THIRD - WHO IS WHERE?

Wedding bells were recently heard as the former Carolyn Sue Hare of Pasadena, Calif., and John Coombs were married in Pasadena. The bride attended Beaver Country Day School, the Westridge School for Girls in Pasadena and the University of Colorado where she belonged to Alpha Delta Pi sorority. After Dartmouth, John attended the University of California at Los Angeles.

Future wedding bells - a recent edition of the Chicago Tribune carries the following article: "The John H. Willmarths of Lake Shore Drive have announced the engagement of their daughter Rachel, to John DouglasSenne of Glen Ellyn. Miss Willmarth studied at Ferry Hall, Rollins College, and the American Art School in Fontainbleau, France." "Sock" is currently working in Chicago and plans to hear those bells in April.

Dick Thomas has recently joined the advertising sales department of Time, Inc. Dick joined Time in July 1956 as a trainee and later was assigned to the circulation department as a college sales development representative. Most recently he has been special assistant to Mr. Bernard Barnes, Time, Inc., vice president. Dick and Priscilla make their home in Hartsdale, N. Y., with their two youngsters.

Cheers!
