No formal activities of the Boston Alumni Association have taken place since the last report. Prospectively, the Dartmouth Night at the Pops will be held May 13, 1959. A general mailing announcing this will be sent out about the middle of April. This event has always been a very enjoyable occasion in the past. It is hoped that as large an attendance as possible will turn out. Any and all profits from the event will be applied to the scholarship fund of the Association. This is an opportunity to have an enjoyable evening in the company of friends and fellow alumni while at the same time making a positive contribution to a very worthy cause.
The annual Open House for "prospective freshmen" will be held at the University Club on May 10, 1959. It provides a good opportunity for these boys to get an insight into the Dartmouth fellowship. As in the past, the program will include a talk by a representative of the administration and hopefully an undergraduate. (A complication with Green Key weekend makes this a somewhat difficult task.) One of the college films will be shown and refreshments will be served to the successful applicants and their families.
Informal weekly luncheons are now being held at the balcony of the Revere Room of the Parker House. Space is set aside for Dartmouth men. So far the publicity has been largely by word of mouth. Those who have attended have found them to be pleasant and friendly gatherings. We hope that more alumni will have occasion to drop in. The established hour is 12:30 p.m. every Thursday.
