Last year Phil Thompson had an item about the number of classmates who were still active in business or professions. Recently I received a clipping announcing the retirement of Robert C. Clark from the presidency of the Bellows Falls Trust Co. Bob has had a long and successful career in banking, starting in his native Brattleboro with the Vermont National Bank. For eleven years prior to going to Bellows Falls he had been state commissioner of banking and insurance in Montpelier. In 1934 he went to Bellows Falls to be treasurer of the bank that he was to become president of in 1937. He now expects to devote more time to his other interests. Bob is an active member of the United Church, Masons and Odd Fellows Also director of the Brattleboro Home for the Aged and Disabled and treasurer of Kurn Hattin Homes. He will remain a director of the bank. Congratulations and best wishes for a happy retirement. Will be looking for you at our 60th.
While in Florida had a pleasant telephone visit with Harry Hill. Sorry not to see him but he was to be away when I planned to go to Eustis where he lives. Glad to report Harry is well and hopes to be back in Tune 1962.
We have just received word of the death on February 20 of Mrs. Helen Murray, widow of our Bill Murray. For many years she had been an active member of the church, Garden Club and various craft groups in Hanover. Our sympathy is extended to her daughter, Mrs. Walter Brown of Austin, Tex., and her son, Donald Murray of Beloit, Wis.
