The Class Executive Committee scheduled a meeting at the Dartmouth Club of New York City on October 21. A report will be carried next month. An excellent attendance was promised. Joe Kurey, Class Treasurer, plans a 7-week trip to Europe and the Far East to advance the business of the Benrus Watch Company.
Roly Miller is a planning engineer with Pan American Airways in Eau Gallie, Fla. Roly began his engineering career with Standard Oil Company in 1947, later did en- gineering drafting for the New York Central Railroad, helped in the Korean conflict as a Lieutenant in the Navy. Previous to joining Pan American, he was a civil engineer with New York Central in Elgin, Ill.
As reported last month, Bob Motlong is a practicing attorney in Denver, Colo. Bob received his LL.B. from the John Marshall Law School at the University of Illinois. Previous to going to Denver, he was vice president and general counsel of Tilton Industries, Inc., home builders. Bob and Joan have a daughter Janet, and a son Robert Jr. Dr. Norm Sissman is with the Pediatrics Department at the Stamford Medical School in Palo Alto, Calif. Norm received his M.D. degree at Harvard in 1950, interned in a Pittsburgh Hospital in 1952, and later served in the Navy at the U. S. Naval Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dick Wetherhead continues his career as a geologist with the Mobile Oil Company of Canada, Ltd., Tripoli, Libya, North Africa. Previous to this, Dick was assistant chief of operations with the Socony Mobile Oil Company in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1959.
Dr. Gene Wittier continues his medical practice in Winthrop, Mass. Gene received his M.D. degree at Boston University Medical School in 1952, interned at the Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Wash., and was later house officer at the Boston City Hospital in 1953. He began his practice in Ashville, Mass., in 1955-
Art Wilson continues the advertising career he began in 1958 as an account executive with Dickie Raymond, Inc., in New York City. Bob Dodson is working with Acco Products Company in Ogdensburg, N. Y. Captain Ed Howard is with the U. S. Army at Fort Huachuca, Ariz.
John H. Havens, resident manager of the Victory Theatre since September, 1959, and city manager in Holyoke for the Victory and Suffolk Theatres since November, has resigned these duties with Theatre Managers Corp. of Springfield, effective June 15. John will become promotional supervisor and New England representative for such attractions as Carmen Cavallaro, the Glen Miller orchestra, organist Dick Liebert, and others.
The Aluminum Company of America has announced the appointment of Lance Reed as manager of its Providence, R. I., branch sales office. Previously Lance was engaged in general sales work in Alcoa's New York sales office. His work in sales, however, dates back to 1948 when he joined Alcoa in Richmond, Ind. Except for three years off for active duty with the Navy, he has been selling aluminum ever since. The Reed family, which now includes three children, will soon be settling in the Providence area.
John Ianiri has been promoted to account supervisor at the Leo Burnett Company in Chicago. John has been with this Company since 1958, and previously worked for Grey Advertising and for the Kayser-Roth Company in New York. Doug Burch has been appointed Media Director of the P. Lorillard Company in New York City. He will handle Media selection for all Lorillard brands including Kent, Old Gold, Newport, and Spring cigarettes.
Doug Jordan was awarded his Doctor of Philosophy Degree in anthropology at Harvard University this past June. He received a .Master's Degree from Harvard in 1955 and has" pursued his study of anthropology since that time. His Doctor's thesis was on local archeology. He has done field work in many parts of the United States and Canada.
Dan Center, Principal of the Fort Fairfield (Me.) High School, has been appointed Principal of the new high school to be built in Yarmouth. Dan earned his M.A. Degree in Education at the University of Maine and holds an LL.B. Degree from Boston University. George Lendrihas has been appointed G.O.P. Finance Chairman for Hackensack, N. J. He will be responsible for a fund-raising campaign to support the "Trumpeter," the official money-raising publication for the G.O.P. County organization. George has formed an 18-member Finance Committee to assist him. He is presently in the real estate business. Prior to this, he pursued a career in federal law enforcement, serving as an Undercover Agent with the F.B.I. George is currently a Director of the Hackensack Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Hackensack Good Government League.
Bob Mortimer is the Miami branch manager of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith, Inc. This is a continuation of Bob's career which he started in 1950 with this Company as an Account Executive. Dr.Marvin Kline is an assistant professor at the University of Maryland, Department of Psychology. Previous to this he was a research associate at the University of Pittsburgh doing psychological research. Lt. CommanderLloyd VanLunen is now situated at Norfolk, Va. Al Colton has moved from Salt Lake City, Utah, to Berkeley, Calif. Chuck Creedon, a former Detroit, Mich., resident, now lives in South Windsor, Conn.
