Well, let's not beat around the bush. I have several items of importance here to talk about and as usual not much time nor space. You know, I seem to be getting fewer and fewer engagement and wedding notices. The '58s seem to be fading right out of the picture. One of these days I'll try adding up the total and see how many of our boys have floundered. I'll bet it's way over fifty percent. With Stoddart gone it's probably sixty percent if you're considering the mass. This may make the following '58s a bit uneasy. Engaged we find:

Gersh Abraham and Sally Ann Ginsberg of Fair Lawn, N. Y.; Andy Petersen and Marion Ann Henshaw of Wakefield, Mass. Andy recently graduated from Navy OCS and will be in Athens, Ga., for the next few months attending Naval Supply School. Dick Portland and Susanne Hayden of Hazelton, Penna. Dick's an engineer with Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N. Y. Glenn Wilde and Barbara Kay Williams of Riverdale, Md. Glenn's doing grad work at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Pete Danford and Susan Jane Geiger. Pete was in Ft. Knox, Ky., last I heard. Ralph Elwood and Sandra Jill Wieland of Northfield, Ill. Ralph's at the Russian Institute at Columbia University. Leon Goodrich and Katherine Jean Gulliksen of Princeton, N. J. Leon's a second year law student at Harvard. Joel Portugal and Helen Horowitz of New York City. Joel's a Navy Lieutenant (j.g.).

A few weddings: That of Hank Bland to the former Andrea Richardson of Nashville, Tenn. Hank's in the Army, stationed at Ft. Jackson, S. C. Frank Rosebury to the former Patience Gray. The couple will be living in New York City. Jon Lehman to Rosemary Hamilton. They were married in Carmel, Calif., where Rosemary's doing grad work at Stanford and Jon's at the Army Language School in Monterey.

A few more items perhaps: Morris Greenley just finished Army OCS at Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Ind., and he and his wife, Claire, have moved to Chicago where Morris has been assigned to 5th Army Headquarters in Hyde Park. Buzz Giles was in Boston back in January attending a home office meeting of the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company for whom he's working as a field agent. Torn Morse graduated from the American Institute of Foreign Trade in Phoenix in January. Specializing in Latin America, he took the school's intensive training course in preparation for a career in American business or government abroad.

On January 29, Sam Silverstein gave an illustrated lecture about exploring and mountaineering to a Hanover audience. Last summer, Sam led an expedition into previously unexplored mountain areas in British Columbia and succeeded in mapping about 150 square miles of this territory. Nick Stevens, surveillance officer at Fort Lawton, Wash., recently participated in ceremonies dedicating the Missile Master facilities at Ft. Lawton. Heard from Rick Martin who reports that he, his wife, Dian, and their year-old son Francis are well and prospering. Rick spent a six-month stint with the Army in San Antonio, Texas, and is now in New York City attending the General Theological Seminary which is a three-year program. Rick had news about several '58s he'd seen recently, among them Jim Crawford (at Union Theological Seminary), Miles Donis, Kynaston McSchine (who's working at the N. Y. Museum of Modern Art), and Cy Smith who's now at Harvard.

Guess that's about all for now. See. It was short. What did ya' expect — an elegy or sum thin'?
