We regret to report the passing of two more well-loved classmates in June of this year.
Lester C. Greenwood, known to us as "Elsie," died June 24 at his home in South Portland, Me., after a short illness with cancer.
Chester Melville passed away at his home in Chestnut Hill, Mass., after a severe heart attack. "Chet" and his wife Bertha were widely known for their collection of over 30,000' marine shells, which, according to the terms of his will, are to be given to some educational institution or museum. He left the bulk of his estate to his wife Bertha with small bequests to others. More complete details of the record of each will be found in the "In Memoriam" section of this or a subsequent issue.
The past summer has been a season for Golden Weddings. As has been previously reported, Larry and Helen Treadway celebrated theirs at Vero Beach on April 10.
Earl and Hattie Wiley celebrated theirs on June 3 in the Colonial Room of the Nationwide Inn in Columbus, Ohio. They have four children and five grandchildren.
Ralph and Mary Currier of Ponemah, N. H„ observed their Golden Wedding on July 10 with a family reunion dinner party of thirty including all six Currier children and all but one of their eighteen grandchildren. Ralph now tops Larry Treadway in the "Grandfather Derby" who reports only sixteen. ...
Before this appears in print it is expected that John H. (Rosie) and Jennie Hinman will have celebrated their Golden Wedding at a reception at the Waumbek in Jefferson, N. H., on September 9.
Art and Juliet Soule moved in July from their former home in Scituate to their new home in Shelter Island Heights, Long Island, N. Y. They expect to spend five months there and the other seven in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Frank McKone, who was with us one year only, reports that he is competing m a small way with Larry Treadway by taking over with his eldest son the Canajoharie Hotel at exit 29 on the New York Thruway from the Beechnut Corporation. His home address remains at 200 Silver Street in Dover, N. H.
Cleveland Amidon has a new position as full professor and head of the department of business administration of DeWitt Hall, a new private coeducational college in Bristol, Conn.
Dr. Burton D. Thorpe, former chief-ofstaff of the Newport, N. H., Hospital, was one of two New Hampshire doctors to be honored on May 20 by the New Hampshire Medical Society for fifty years of practice.
George B. Fine received 50-year membership awards recently from the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and from the Masonic Service Association of New Jersey for which he has been a lecturer for many years.
A letter addressed to Howard K. Williams, Lincoln Road, Scottsdale, Ariz., was returned undeliverable. Can any of the Dartmouth fraternity furnish his present address?
