Larry Treadway has had a serious operation and would welcome mail from classmates. On March 24 I received the following letter from Helen: "Larry is in the hospital to have an operation for prostate trouble, an operation he had for the first time 20 years ago. This will delay our going home, as we do not know how quickly he will recover from the operation. The specialist said that once in twenty years if a man lived long enough the prostate gland was apt to grow again. Unfortunately this has happened to Larry."

On April 5, "Ted" Barnes received a note from John Treadway, Larry's son, which Ted forwarded to your editor. "L. G. Treadway, 'OB. Recuperating from operation. Friends of Dad are urged to drop him a line. He had a serious prostate operation a week ago. Is coming along reasonably well but needs all the morale boost he can get. He is still in the hospital but mail should be addressed to him: c/o William C. Fowle (his son-in-law), Mercersburg Academy, Mercersburg, Pa. 17236."

Earl Wiley writes that he is busy attending and supervising the care of his wife, Hattie, who suffered a severe shock at the time they were preparing, enthusiastically, to attend Reunion. As Hattie put it, "I want to sit on the porch of the Inn and watch the old boys go by." Hattie is showing improvement. All '08ers wish her a complete recovery. Earl continues his writing though he has no opportunity to use the University library. Recently he published a brochure, "Lincoln's Analysis of a Grave Moral Issue." Does anybody recall his "Eloquence at Gettysburg and Daniel Webster," from the April '67 DARTMOUTH ALUMNI MAGAZINE?
