At practically all previous reunions, nobody was more appreciated than Elizabeth, wife of Hermon Farwell. She entered wholeheartedly into the best features of every occasion and had a remarkable gift of making everyone feel that he was a warm personal friend. Now as we plan for our 60th, we must be resigned to the fact that she will be absent. After a long and painful illness, she died at their home in Noroton, Conn., Oct. 23, 1961. Herm writes that he was deeply appreciative of the presence of ChetStudwell at the funeral, who of his own accord acted as representative of the Class. We too are grateful to him, and wish to join in sympathy for the whole family.

Great-grandparents are by no means unique on the class roster, but few can be sprier than Karl Brackett and his wife Gertrude, who recently brightened the home of the secretary by being the first of the class ever to have dropped in to see him in his retirement. If the reunion can supply the same keen conversation and delightful fellowship, no one can afford to stay away. That bookstore in Belmont must be a marvelous place and one can well understand the Bracketts wishing to spend the winter in that neighborhood rather than having to run the furnace and shovel snow in the isolation of central New Hampshire. They have just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary.
