Dear Gang - Good news this month from the Home Office of International Paper. Our boy Jud Hannigan has been named Manager of the Company's mill at Corinth, N. Y., as of January 1, 1961. Jud and Grace and their tribe have been in Corinth since 1948 when the old footballer joined International as an assistant chemist at the Hudson River Mill. Through the years it has been one step up the ladder after another until Jud is now #1 guy. I might add that the International Mill is the biggest employer for many miles in that area and Jud's position carries with it a lot of responsibility and prestige - Congrats, grats, Jud!...In December up in New London, Conn., at the U. S. Navy Submarine Base, Lieutenant Commander Pete Freeman was involved in a change. He was replaced as commander of the USS Sea Robin and is being transferred to more important duties. Pete has been in the submarine service for twelve years serving on submarines Conger, Bashaw, Pomodon and Trigger and has been commander of the Sea Robin since November, 1959. After Dartmouth, Pete went to the Naval Academy and in 1958 received a master of science degree in mechanical engineering at the U. S. Naval Postgraduate school in Monterey, Calif. Old Pete will probably be glad to get some state-side duty for a while.... The Boston Traveler last month carried a feature story on Jim Earner's Aerosol Corporation of Wellesley Hills. The firm, produces the nationally known Glis spray starch and Glisade starchless ironing aid. Jim's company's sales were close to a million last year and they expect them to double for the current fiscal year which ends September 30. Jim left his secure job with the family's leather-making firm to start the Aerosol Company in the belief that if he had some unusual and different products, the trick was in marketing them. He started out very oddly, selling hacksaws and now his Aerosol Corporation has a wide range of products such as shoe shine spray, Foot Mist for athlete's foot, Spot-Off for cleaning and many other door-to-door items he calls quickie products - the most well known of which is probably Aerosol bug spray. Basically the firm is one of sales and merchandising as all the products are manufactured by sub-con-tracfors. Congrats, Jim and keep up the good work! ... A short time back while working with our Dayton Chamber of Commerce public relations man, X found that he was the brother of our own Dave Clarke. Dave, as I mentioned in an issue a short time back is in Dallas, but I now have some more up-to-date dope on him. He had been with one of the Hartford, Conn., insurance companies in the mortgage end of the business and is now a partner in the Jerry Frey Mortgage Company in Dallas. Dave moved back down there two years ago and he and his wife have four boys. The firm acts basically as mortgage loan correspondents.

Rocky Angstadt deserves congratulations this month for he has recently been appointed a senior vice president of Young & Rubicam, Inc. He has been with the Madison Avenue advertising agency since 1951. Part of the ten years was spent with the firm's branch office in San Francisco, but Rocky did such a capable job he was brought back to New York and promoted to vice president and manager of merchandising in 1957. The Angstadts are now making their home in Darien, Conn., where Suzanne takes care of two active daughters, Katherine and Elizabeth.
