A couple of months ago I suggested that you watch this column for more news about some of those '56ers who were up here, accompanied by delightful girls, for skiing during the cold Hanover winter.

President of the Class, Russ Brace, and Jean Crawford were engaged on April 1, and plan to be married in July. Jean's home is in Pennington, N. J. She graduated from Wellesley College in 1959 and is doing graduate work at Brown University. Those of us who met Jean here last winter, or down at Jim and Polly Flynn's in New York, highly approve of Russ's choice. Russ, as you probably know, is editor of the National and Maine Coast Fisherman in Camden, Me. Fen Riley and Anne Ferrebee were engaged late in February. Anne is a senior at Smith and is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ferrebee of Cooperstown, N. Y. As well as being pretty and a beautiful skier, Anne is a wonderful person and should make a fine wife for Fen. Fen is finishing his fourth year at Harvard Medical School.

Although they may not have visited Hanover this winter, several others were engaged or married recently. Don Campbell married Jay Frances Topping of West Orange, N. J. Don's wife is an alumna of Bradford Junior and Northwestern, and Don is with Pittsburg Plate Glass in Newark. They were married in February at the First Presbyterian Church in South Orange. Ted Wadleigh was married in February. His wife, formerly Karlene B. Neville, is from Manchester, N. H., and graduated from U.N.H. in 1959. She did graduate study at the Sorbonne in Paris and teaches in the Hooksett, N. H., Elementary School System. Ted received his law degree from Michigan in 1959, attended the N.Y.U. Graduate School of Taxation, and is associated with a law firm in Manchester. Ted and Karlene spent their honeymoon in Mexico City.

An article in the Trenton (N. J.) Times in mid-February announced the wedding of Jack Kustrup and Carole Lynn Mozur. Carole attended Cedar Crest College and was graduated from Katharine Gibbs. Jack received his degree from Georgetown Medical School and is interning at St. Francis Hospital in Trenton. Bill Kustrup was best man, and his wife Nina was a bridesmaid in the wedding. Steve Farmer, a graduate of the Washington University School of Medicine and resident in surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, is engaged to Maxine Ruth Ziss of Maplewood, N. J. Ruth attended Columbia and graduated from Boston University.

Nancy Hattox, Wellesley 1959, is engaged to Tim Fohl. Nancy's father is a Colonel in the U.S. Army; they used to live in Wellesley and now live in Arlington, Va. Tim has his Master's from M.I.T. and is now working for his doctorate. Hank Kappel has his degree from Brooklyn Law School and lives in Birmingham, Mich. In early March, Hank became engaged to Carol Gillow of Detroit. Carol graduated from William Woods Junior College and studied at Northwestern.

Chuck Woodhouse has recently joined two other lawyers to form a new law firm in Manchester, Conn. Chuck finished Harvard Law and was admitted to the Connecticut Bar a year ago. The firm is LaBelle, Rothenberg, and Woodhouse. Chuck is engaged to Bev Fahrer of Hartford. Union Carbide Plastics Company appointed Bill Neely as Technical Representative in the Mid-Western Sales Region. Bill and Shirley are living in Kansas City, Mo. Bill started with Union Carbide in 1959 and completed the sales training program in Bound Brook, N. J. Charlie Honig made the Ridgewood, N. J., Herald-News when he took over as manager of the new Electrolux office in Ramsey. Charlie has a degree from N.Y.U. Law School. He and Janice have a daughter born last Tune.

Hats off to Bill Malcolm. Bill has been studying pre-med at Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre, Penna., and has just been admitted to Temple University School of Medicine. Bill is married to the former Mary Ann Barney of Kingston. They have a son, two years old, and Bill is active with a Navy Reserve unit in Kingston.

I neglected to mention in an earlier issue that Bert Whittemore is with the Old Colony Trust Company in Boston. He planned to help represent our Class and the Big Green against the Crimson at Tuckerman Ravine in the annual H-D Slalom scheduled for April 15. I made a vague reference to PaulNelson in the March Issue and was pleased to receive in the mail from Paul a more complete report: "I am taking my M.A. at Colgate in English ... will be completed this June. The University pays me for preceptorial work with freshmen and subsidizes my studies. In August, after working with the summer education institute, my wife Judy (Rhode Island School of Design, '58) and I will be leaving for sunny Hawaii where I will be teaching English at the Punahou School. I may stay there the rest of my natural days, but looking to the future I will try to take oriental literature at the University of Hawaii and languages in preparation for Ph.D. work. Does anyone know anyone in Hawaii? The Preceptorial Studies Program at Colgate is fine for men who plan to take their M.A., but especially sound for prospective teachers who want course work in their field along with education courses for accreditation. I heard last from KenWlaschin. He was in France and planning to teach at one of those schools in Italy. When are you going to get married?" etc., etc.

George Yeager and Clem Malm organized a '56 Alumni get-together in New York City for 5:15 p.m. Friday, April 28. All '56ers in the New York area should have received invitations. Clem is Projects Assistant in the Market Research and Analysis Division of Mobil International Oil Company. Henry Fleet Malin, named for his grandfather Henry L. Fleet '25, was born to Ann and Clem on October 3, 1960. They live in New Rochelle. I ran across an alumni interview report from Bud Roth on a prospective freshman from Syracuse, and Bob Montgomery is doing some interviewing in Denver.

I owe an apology to the class and particularly Murray Kaplan for an incorrect statement in the March issue linking Murray with the old Topliff episode of freshman year.

Next month I will have a report on '56ers attending concerts of the Dartmouth Glee Club during its March-April western tour. This will feature a report from Joe Obering and some news about Dean Sheldon, TedWeymouth, Dutch Rosenberger, Bill Behrens, and others. Remember, Green Key Weekend is May 12-14. The dance is Friday night.

Alumni from several classes were on hand for the wedding of Jim and Diane Dalton '57. Thegathering included (l to r), kneeling, Bill Davidow '57, Chuck King '57; standing, Line Mitchell '58, Pete Wardle '57, Ray Parsons '57, Jim Hill '56, the bride and groom, Lee Gammill'56, Gene Elsbree '55, Jim Meeker '58, and Dave Cost '53.
