A Class Meeting-Reunion will take place in Hanover, October 12, the day of the Dartmouth-Brown football game. The meeting will begin at 9:30 in Room 158 of Baker Library. There will be a picnic lunch before the game and a powwow after. The night before is Dartmouth Night; it's a good weekend to be in Hanover, but you might bring an umbrella. Also watch for news of a '56 gathering in New Haven the day of the Yale game.

Len Clark, class agents, and nearly the entire class took part in the Alumni Fund Drive last spring to put us over the top of our objective and first of seven classes in our group: grand total for '56, $8,217.34.

Former Class Head Agent Glen French has been promoted to the newly created position of sales training manager for American Hospital Supply, Inc., of Evanston, Ill., a division of American Hospital Supply Corp. Glen has been recruiting and placement administrator in American's corporate personnel department. He began his job with the firm in 1959 and after completing a training course was assigned to a sales territory (where the lucky guy worked out of Hanover) in the company's Boston regional office. He now lives in Arlington Heights, Ill.

Bob McCausland and Elizabeth Cotton were married in Dallas, Texas, in June. After a wedding trip to Acapulco, Bob and his bride settled in Miami, where Bob is with the Bank of Kendall. Elizabeth is from Hernando, Miss.; after high school in Mississippi, she attended El Camino College in Los Angeles and then became a stewardess for Braniff Airlines. Carol Ludwig of Laramie, Wyo., became the wife of BillLoyer on June 30. Carol has a degree from the University of Wyoming. Bill says she skis, rides horseback, and has been doing graduate work in art. Phil Hackbarth was best man. Bill and Carol traveled to Spain, Italy, Switzerland, and France, and have now moved into Apt. B-3, 145 Grandview, Fords, N.J.

Tomm "Mmot" Shockey and Adeline Pauline Theis were married in Lamberton, Minn., May 26. Adeline graduated from St. Olaf College, studied in Marburg and Mainz, Germany, and has been working toward her Master of Arts degree at Middlebury. Tomm has his master's degree from the University of Mainz and has been head of the German Department of the Peddie School in Hightstown, N.J. JoshHill who is with the Stinehour Press in Vermont after studying at NYU Graduate Institute of Book Publishing, has married a Vermonter with similar interests. Barbara Butterfield is from St. Johnsbury. She attended Mary Washington College, graduated cum laude from the University of New Hampshire, and is now vice-president of the Cowles Press in St. Johnsbury. Josh and Barbara were married Aug. 3.

Mac Barker has asked Shirley Vierstra to be his bride. Shirley is from Whitinsville, Mass., graduated from Mt. Auburn Hospital School of Nursing and the University of Bridgeport, and is now a senior at Boston University Graduate School. Mac is with Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. in Watertown, N. Y. Judith Austin of W. 120th St., N. Y., is engaged to Clet DiGiovanni. Judy went to Riverdale Country School and graduated from Duke in 1961. She is working toward a master's degree at Columbia Teachers College, where her father is a professor. Clet's specialty is weightlessness and acceleration problems as a doctor at the Naval Air Development Center Aviation Medical Acceleration Lab. in Johnsville, Pa.

Al Friedman and Diane Orenstein have announced their engagement. Diane is from Central Park West, New York, and graduated from Birch-Wathen School and Vassar College. She did graduate work at Columbia and teaches in Manhattan. Al has completed his residency at NYU Medical Center and continues there on a National Institutes of Health Fellowship in glaucoma research. Dick and Barbara McClintock, Pete 3, and Pam 2 are living in Aiea, Hawaii, where Dick is a Marine Corps doctor. The Aug. 7 W-W-W has an interesting full report from Ted and Eunice Clause and daughter Carlyn now settled in Honolulu, where Ted is with a law firm. Karen Crawford Brace was born in the midst of the Alumni Fund effort, May 18, to Russ and Jean in Camden, Me.

Air Force Captain Dick Zock has seen a good portion of the world, from above and below, as a pilot with the Strategic Air Command, but now he's piloting a desk as economics instructor at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Dick, who has his Tuck M.B.A., was doing some parttime teaching in business administration at the Boise, Idaho, junior college while serving as a B-47 pilot for the 99th Bombardment Squadron out of Mountain Home Air Force Base. He was hoping for this Academy assignment. He went into the Air Force in 1957. He and Jacqueline have a son, Derek.

Ben Taylor is with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. in New York, did much skiing last winter, and is still among the unmarried. Don Spitzli received his law degree from the University of Virginia in June and is living at 579 Chumley Road, Bay Colony, Virginia Beach. Dud Towe has been studying at the business, divinity, and law schools at Harvard and received his law degree in June. Pete Shoresman has been specializing in science education and received the Doctor of Education degree from Harvard in June. Doug Bleiler has been elected president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Simsbury, Conn. Doug is vice-president of R.W. Bleiler Equipment Co. of Hartford and lives at 2 Woodcliff Drive in Simsbury.

John and Judy Allen and their two children are living on Cormorant Drive in Groton, Conn. John is with the new nuclear missile submarine "Lafayette" and is responsible for the nuclear plant and steam generators. John was interviewed by the New York Mirror and explained the concept of two complete crews, safety from radiation, and the fine attitude of the wives! Rayand Margaret Harrison and son Stuart have moved to Evanston, Ill., where Ray will be with St. Matthews Church.

Howie Webber has had two short stories published in The New Yorker. The latest, "Games," was in the March 30 issue. Howie is living in Baltimore. Tom Davis is taking a one-year program at Duke Divinity School for his Master of Theology degree. Tom has served as a chaplain at the University of North Carolina for three years and has been active in community work and the Orange County Democratic Party. Tom and Betsy have a son, Tom Jr. 5 months old. JimBreeden, Lon Dring, and I took part in the August 28 March in Washington. Jim has been appointed to the staff of St. Paul's Cathedral in Boston and has been a leader in resolving problems of the Boston school system. Al Booth is working on his doctoral thesis in African History at B.U. and Widener Library. Al and Beatrice are living in Arlington, Mass.
