Dear Gang - I am pleased to tell you this month all of our class widows (as far as our records indicate) are now receiving the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. In cases where there is no widow the MAGAZINE is sent to parents. We would appreciate hearing from 'anyone who knows of any widow who is not receiving this on behalf of the class. Our esteemed Treasurer Andy Murtha is responsible for this act of kindness . . . Class Chairman, "0lRegbo" Pierce is still knocking them dead as Vice President of Compton Advertising, Inc. in the "Big City." Among Reg's many accomplishments is the Chase Manhattan Bank Account where that large nest egg has been seen everywhere from a rowboat to your own living room. I am sorry that Reg was not with us in Hanover for Class Officers weekend but a business trip to Oregon kept him from being on "the plain."

Some of you might have noticed in the "Dartmouth Authors" section of the April ALUMNI MAGAZINE that our own George Hilton's book, "The Truck System," was reviewed. We reported on George's happenings in last month's article and he evidently is one of the country's foremost authorities in the field of transportation economics - Congrats on a fine job, George. . . . The next note this month is from Harry B. Johnson, Secretary of Che Class of '04 up in Pittsfield, Mass. He sends us a copy of the Berkshire Eagle showing our own Bob Herd featured in a G.E. ad. Bob is manager of Polaris Sales in Pittsfield (his home town). Bob graduated from Pittsfield Hi eh School in '41 and finished at Dartmouth in 1946. After serving in Uncle Sam's Navy, first as an enlisted man and later as a lieutenant, he joined G.E. in Schenectady in 1946 in the Aviation Division and returned to Pittsfield in October of 1957 as a program engineer. He was promoted to his present position in August, 1958. Bob and his wife (Che former Marion May of Pittsfield) and their five children live on Bellmore Drive in Pittsfield.

Bob Sandoe has been appointed the new headmaster of Texas Military Institute as of August 1. Bob as you know was head of The American School in Manila, Philippines for several years and also was on the staff at Choate. We imagine that Bob is glad to be back in the country.

Here's some news on another of our Theologians - Rev. Paul Kintzing is now Rector of Saint John's Episcopal Church in BalaCynwyd, Penna. (a suburb of Philadelphia). After graduating from Dartmouth, Paul was graduated from 'the General Theological Seminary in 1949 and received his Master's degree at the Philadelphia Divinity School in 1954. He was ordained a priest in 1949 and became vicar of Saint James Church in Bedford, Penna., and was later made associate rector of Saint Mark's -Church, near there. Then he was Episcopal chaplain at Northwestern University before taking the rectory at St. John's, Bala-Cynwyd. He has been very active in community affairs and in the Episcopal diocese of Pennsylvania; in addition he has been an Episcopal author. Under his leadership, his parish has grown in the past five years from 140 communicants to 560. There also was no Church School there when he arrived and the enrollment is now 130 students. Paul is married to the former Jacqueline Troit and they have two children.

Dune Fitchet and 'his family have moved from Winnetka, Ill., to Wellesley, and Dune is with Rand-McNally, the map people. Both Dune 'and his wife are former Greater Bostonians. . . . Kimball Jones has announced his engagement to Miss Ileana V. Zagars of Melrose, Mass. Kim is presently teaching at Noble and Greenougth School in Dedham and his future bride is a senior at Wellesley College, where she is a physics major and has been named a Wellesley Scholar.... Our own Major Bob Case has been appointed commanding officer of 'the 1st Armored Rifle Battalion, of the 105th Infantry, 27th Armored Division of the New York Army National Guard. Bob has been active in the Reserves since he got out of school and before his present appointment was intelligence officer of Headquarters, Combat Command A of the group. Bob is now a specialist in operations in the plant utility section of the large steam turbine-generator of G. E. up in Schenectady. Bob and his wife and five children live in Charlton, N. Y., out of Schenectady.
