Dear Gang - The first item in this month's mail bag is a very pleasant letter from GeorgeHilton, who is an assistant professor of Economics at Stanford University. George recently got his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago after ten years of study and teaching. He is living at 2260 Dartmouth St., Palo Alto and drives a dark green Volkswagen with license plates DDD 394 - wow, what Dartmouth spirit! George would like to hear from any 46's in the area. - Next is a letter from "Old Hose Nose" Dave Weld - Dave, as some of you know, is traveling the Jersey and New York area peddling for Lawrence R. McCoy & Co., Inc., lumber merchants, of Worcester, Mass. Old Dave has consented to take over the writing of the "'46 Tomahawk" for this year's Alumni Fund. He'd love to hear from any of you, what you are doing, new babies, if you are willing to compete on the $64,000 Question or anything else of interest. Frank O'Neill, the old Beta gridder from Scranton, Pa., is in town and we have gotten together several times including a jaunt out to see the University of Dayton's NIT-bound Flyers. Frank reports on the following Denverites: Schuy Cross is in the general insurance business and incidentally was at one time an agent of the New England Life there. Martin "Goose" Brusse is firmly entrenched in business as a vice president of a dental products company and also has an interest in a metal products firm; Frank said he is a "successful young executive." Bill Spoor is in New York in the flour business and Dr.Fletch Thomas is practicing medicine in the Colorado capital.
46's in the News - Gene Houlihan is a sales representative for Johns-Manville in Boston and recently completed a sales course for the top representatives nationally in the company's Building Products Division. Gene joined the company in 1956 and you can address him at 178 Lincoln Street, Worcester, Mass. Sam Florman (of Streeter Hall) makes the news with his promotion to Vice President and Director of the Kreisler-Borg Construction Co. of White Plains. Sam joined the company several years ago after getting his M.A. at Columbia and doing other post-graduate engineering work at N. Y. U. On January 30, Prof. Phil Osberg of Colby College, Waterville, Me., spoke in New York City at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The conference drew several thousand people and Phil's talk was a report of his four summers of geological mapping throughout southern Quebec and northern Vermont. Phil has his M.A. and Ph.D. from Harvard and still finds time for plenty of skiing. "Sonny"Thomas is in the news again - this time for the presentation of his "Flight to Adventure, which he and wife Tay gave in Carnegie Hall on January 16th. You are all aware of Sonny s recent year-long, 50,000 mile adventure flight across Africa and Asia. - Snickenberger has been moved up to the position of Registrar at Cornell - nice going, Snick! Have you been doing any short-stopping lately? Incidentally, Snick and Male MacLane were recently appointed to National Alumni Council committees by President Dickey and the Board of Trustees.

Johnny Smith is an engineer for Reaction Motors, in Sparta, N. J. What a deal Sandy Treat has; he is on a leave of absence from Aluminium, Ltd. to take some advanced study in his work at an industrial school in Geneva, Switzerland. And the guy doesn't ski at all - not much! Fred"Guinea" Wilmot is chief peddler for Columbia Records in and around Hartford and you can drop him a note at 25 E. Maxwell Dr., West Hartford. "Nemo" Andersen is residing at 422 S. Elm Dr., Beverly Hills, Calif. - that sounds like the part of the country you would expect to find Nemo. ElwynVan Etten is an accountant for the Corning Glass Works in Corning, N. Y. and Lou Witzeman is working in Phoenix and living at 105 W. Marlette St.
