This is the wind-up report on what has proved to be a very active season for this Club. First activity in the new year was the Glee Club Concert on February 18. Under the direction of Committee Chairman Carl vonPechman '38 this was a most successful concert, with more than 500 attending one of the finest performances yet. The large turnout was particularly gratifying in view of the fact' that the concert was competing for attendance with a Dartmouth hockey game scheduled at nearby New Haven for the same evening. As last year, the Glee Club entertained at the Newington Home for Crippled Children before its evening appearance at West Hartford. We hear that this extra appearance was equally enjoyed by the kids and the Club members.

The second annual Ivy League Ball was held March 11, and it now looks like this event is going to attain the status of a permanent Hartford-area institution. Our Club was ably represented on the Ball Committee by Scout Peters '50 . . . and a good many of the local Green alumni and their wives turned out for the festivities.

Speaker for our April Luncheon Meeting was Vincent B. Coffin, Chancellor of the University of Hartford, who talked to us about the exciting business of building a new university.

Sunday, April 30, the Yale and Dartmouth Rugby Clubs clashed at the Farmington Valley Polo Club in a game jointly sponsored' with the local Yale alumni group. A good day, a good crowd, and a particularly good game .. . Dartmouth 6, Yale 1.

Last item on this year's official agenda will, as usual, be our Annual Meeting and elections. This year, however, we'll depart from past practices by making this a special luncheon meeting. Since this is our Golden Anniversary Year (our Club was founded in 1911), we'll have some special observances and hope to have Bob Blackman and Charlie J. Zimmerman '23 from the College as speakers.
