Members of the class continue to take their full part in activities outside the realm of keeping the wolf from the door. Latest to take on such responsibility is Bill Hoffman, senior vice president of the Fidelity Union Trust Co., Newark, N. J., who has been named chairman of the special gifts division of the first United-Red Cross campaign for the Oranges and Maplewood.
Executive changes announced by Compton Advertising, Inc., during August moved Allen Flouton from executive vice president to vice chairman sharing in top management duties.
Our hotelier, Dick Treadway, former Republican national committeeman for Massachusetts and also onetime member of the state senate, is again in the news as speaker at Agawam (what state; Massachusetts?). He "highlighted a program including sports events, a snack bar, prizes, and a chicken barbecue."
Harry Horn, for fourteen years New England district manager of Architectural Record, has moved over to Building Construction, a Cahners Publishing Company magazine, as advertising sales manager, and George Conklin, who has been with the company since 1939, has just been named executive vice president of the Guardian Life Insurance Company. He currently also serves as adjunct professor of Finance in the Graduate School of Business, New York University.
