Portland

On Thursday evening, December 28, at the Portland, Maine YMCA the Dartmouth Club of Maine under the leadership of President Bernard Lewis '52 held a prospective candidate meeting.

We felt that if we succeeded in getting out forty people on an evening during the holidays that we would be doing well. We packed the house with better than seventy and had one of the best and most informative meetings I personally have ever attended. The program consisted of preliminary remarks by Mr. Lewis, a prospective candidates' film from the College, and then an informal meeting with coffee and doughnuts with alumni answering candidates' questions. On the same night we were competing with two other colleges on the same type of meeting so the turn-out was even more amazing.
