As of the time of writing, spring has sprung; and a young man's (or not so young - after all, we've passed thirty) fancy turns to satyrizing. Unfortunately, Knight, Karcher, et al. have let us down; and there are no marriages or engagements to report this month.

Births, however, we have. Out Cleveland way, there were two recent additions to the growing '51 flock. Frank and Sally Bruch welcomed Sarah to the tribe on February 27, which makes four daughters and one son for them. Fred and Jane Chandler added daughter #3 in early March, which, with one son, makes four for them.

In Worcester (Mass.), Ed and Sandra Landau upset the equitable distribution of a son and daughter by adding another daughter, Joyce Carol, on December 10. Ed passed his boards in Internal Medicine last fall and is practicing internal medicine and gastroenterology.

Dr. Don Dworken is now Chief Resident in Orthopedics at the West Haven (Conn.) Veterans Administration Hospital. Gerry Shaw is teaching senior English and is head coach of track and assistant coach of football at Hull High School in the greater Boston area.

Dr. (Ph.D. type) Bill Friedlander has been appointed leader of the polymer section, Central Research Laboratories, Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Co. After joining 3M in 1954 as a senior chemist, Bill became project manager, then group supervisor, and finally assistant manager of the Advanced Research Projects Agency propellant project before moving up to his present post.

Armstrong Cork has shifted Jack Giegerich from Baltimore to Chicago where he is Assistant District Manager of the Floor Division Office in the windy city. Class Treasurer Tom Porter has taken a new position with the Kroger Company and is moving to Cincinnati.

Hap Person has acquired a majority interest in Gage-Wiley & Co., Inc., Springfield (Mass.) investment securities house established in 1933. Procter & Gamble has moved Paul Staley from Sacramento (Calif.) to Kansas City, where he is now general production manager of P&G's local plant.

Head Class Agent Dick Rogers is currently in Philadelphia for the Naval Reserve Officers Training and Administrative Conference at the local Navy Base. In 1947 as an NROTC midshipman at Dartmouth, Dick received the serial number after classmate Sam Roberts. Now, almost fifteen years later, they appear consecutively on the roster of this particular reserve course. Sam, who was commissioned earlier, will shortly outrank Dick.

Dick reports that there are about forty more '51 Class Agents working on the Alumni Fund this year than any previous year. Take a word from the wise, and cough up your fair share before Rogers' legions get to you. The College will be the better for it, and you will be able to go to sleep at night with a clear conscience.
