Last weekend the class executive committee meeting took place in Hanover and all who attended enjoyed a fine time arranged by Russ Carlson, our chairman. In spite of the Big Green Team's squeaky victory over Bucknell, the foliage was simply magnificent and quite spectacular behind the football field and the new Leverone field house. We all stayed at Keene's where we had cocktails and an excellent dinner before Jim Schwedland's informative talk on his activities as the new educational director of the D.O.C. On Sunday morning the meeting took place over breakfast pancakes with the rain pouring down outside; the first rain Hanover has had in six weeks. Each phase of our class activity was covered by the respective class officer. Treasurer Bob Arnold's suggestion to raise class dues from $5 to $6 in 1964 was promptly accepted as the cost of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE was advanced for the class, making this increase necessary to maintain a surplus in the treasury. Dick Greene discussed how our annual gift to the Alumni Fund accumulates toward our 25th Reunion gift. Head class agent Bob Tracy said he had plans all prepared this year for an early start on the Alumni Fund Drive with a complete breakdown for each region. We had a general discussion of communications between individual members of the class and the college. It was decided that anyone having either suggestions or criticisms concerning either class or college affairs could write RussCarlson, class chairman, who perhaps could propose the idea as backed by the class thus giving it stronger voice.

We all missed Pat Hatheway at the festivities last weekend in Hanover, but she recently presented John with their first daughter, Sara Wood, born on August 24. Subsequently they moved into their new home in Chappaqua so John had to make the trip by himself while Pat was busy getting the baby and the two boys settled in the new house.
It was certainly good to see Jim Schwedland again and to have the opportunity to meet his new wife, Jane. Jane has a son, Robert and a daughter, Regina. Next spring they are expecting a new arrival in the family. Jim took his family to spend a few days up in the College Grant, which he knows particularly well and Jane made the recommendation that all Dartmouth families take a trip up there and enjoy the vast wilderness of northern New Hampshire.

The only other '48's I saw at the game in Hanover were Bob and Bud Munson and their wives Joan and Barbara. Bob is with the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington and lives in nearby Alexandria. They have three sons, including a set of three-year-old twins. Bud and Barbara live in West Concord, Mass., and have four children, including another set of twins - three-year-old girls! Bud is a management consultant in Boston with Harbridge House.
