I'm sure that by now all of you have enjoyed browsing through our first class directory. From now on all you '48 wives had better keep those beds ready in the guest rooms because you never know when a long lost classmate might stumble in out of the rain or snow for an evening of reminiscence, now that we all can readily find each other. We all owe" a vote of thanks to our class chairman, Bobo Russell, for correlating all the data, arranging for the printing and designing and donating the attractive looseleaf binders. As class secretary, one category in which I find it impossible to keep current records is new class babies. It would be of great assistance if you or your wives could drop me a note with the name and birth date of any arrivals in the past year or so and future '48 offspring as they arrive. By the time our 25th reunion rolls around we won't have to worry about this category any more (we hope!) so it's kind of fun to try and keep track of the arrivals now.
For the last several years Tom and OrRichardson have been living out in that booming state of Arizona." Their daughter Cynthia is now ten years old. Tom is with a road building company in Phoenix and lives in nearby Scottsdale. It certainly was good to hear about his activities again after several years.
Traveling Eastward across the country, I heard about the promotion received by Walt Palmunen. Walt was named assistant comptroller by the National Shawmut Bank in Boston. He has been with the bank since he graduated from Dartmouth. Walt and Nat live in suburban Reading and at last report had one daughter, Carole, two and a half. Should there be any additions, Walt, drop me a line.

He is now running the wholesale distribution end and finds it much easier living in New York. Bud reports that Doris and son Dick are very happy in their new environment.
When I was in California last spring I had an opportunity to speak to Ray Rackley's wife Rhea about his activities. At that time Ray was completing his Ph.D. in linguistics at the University of California at Berkeley. Ray is now teaching in the Linguistics Department specializing in Indian languages.

Joining Beech Lockwood and the rest of our class contingent in Pittsburgh is JimEckman. Jim is with the General Electric Company and was in Louisville previously. He and Jean also have three — Jim Jr., eleven, Janet, eight, and Judy, two.
It has been a long time since we have had word on one of our most successful classmates. Howie Hilton is president and partner of Hilton and Gray Advertising Agency in Tampa, Fla. I'm sure Howie bumps into Dave Kadyk, a partner in a law firm there and Mouse Taylor who is president of Taylor and Cotton, a construction supply company. Howie and Dottie, I hope, can bring themselves and Howie III, now eleven, Rod, nine, and Leslie, six, up to reunion next year.
So you won't think that solely by living in the sun twelve months a year you can become president of a company, I would also like to mention Ray Howland, who is president of the Holland Tool and Die Company in Ipswich, Mass. Ray and Virginia live in Winchester. Their children are Carol, almost fifteen, Jeffrey, ten, and Cynthia, seven.
On this cold, dreary afternoon I would like nothing better than to pass on to my classmates the wealth of information which I collected about all of you while compiling the directory. However, I'm a little late getting this up to Hanover and my hard working wife still has to try to decipher this before typing it, so I'd better save the rest for next month.
