As I write these lines it seems a long way from Christmas and the New Year but I still venture to wish to each of you, and to all the girls also, a "Merry Christmas" and a "Happy New Year" and during 1964 may you all enjoy good health, comfort and good cheer.
The football season is finished, but today, I have been reading through tear-dimmed eyes the Harvard-Dartmouth score: 17-13, and I looked back to 1903 when we had Myron, Bull and Matt out there in the Harvard Stadium and came away with an 11-0 victory. Those were the days when men were men.
Don't forget June 12 to 14, our sixtieth reunion in Hanover. Write to Leon Webster, Randolph, Vt., for information and reserva- tions. We will visit Eleazar and raise a song to Old Dartmouth, and sing it loud and clear, with fond memories of our classmates whom we've loved for sixty years.
The Secretary recently called the home of our Dr. Leroy Vail and is glad to report the "Kid" was home and gaining in strength. Don't forget to send him a Christmas and New Year card. His address is: 13006 Boca Ciega Avenue, Madeira Beach, St. Peters- burg, Fla.
Dr. Dave Ford, address Riverview Manor, Washington, N. C., recently wrote a good letter to the Secretary calling attention to a fine article on Dartmouth College in the August issue of "American Heritage." Get it at your Library. You will enjoy it. Speaking of Dave and Mildred, they are getting along nicely. Send them a card too.
In Florida people have been watching with some anxiety the actions of a couple of girls, Flora and Ginny, but Jimmy Brother-hood wrote: "You people haven't seen any- thing until Sally and Zita get moving."
Note in the obituary section of this or a subsequent MAGAZINE the passing of a former classmate, who did not graduate, FredFreeman. He had devoted most of his life to YMCA work, and the last ten years to the Baptist Church in Michigan.
October 22, 1883, was Jerry Hatch's birthday. When you send him his Christmas card it will still not be too late to congratulate him on his 80th birthday. He's in a Nursing Home at 851 4th St., Santa Monica, Calif. Jerry is nearly blind. His wife passed away several years ago and they had no children.
It's good to hear from the West: Bruce in St. Paul, Crack Corn Smith in Oroville, Wash., and Capt. Hardy who has a new address: 11 West Aloha St., Seattle, Wash. Also had a nice letter from Whittemore from Washington, D.C.
Squid writes that there was an earthquake in Massachusetts recently. The Democrats caused it. Ike Maynard is back in Daytona, Fla., and we hope to see him soon.
The Class of 1904 failed to have the annual class dinner in Boston the night before the Harvard game which no doubt accounts for the score. We are slipping!
Again - Christmas and New Year Greetings with deep and sincere affection to all of you including all of our girls.
Secretary, 1766 42nd Ave., Vero Beach, Fla. Telephone Jo 7-2046
