With so many things still undecided as of this writing - the national league pennant race, elections, the auto strike, and the ratings of the new TV shows - it's nice to realize that many 60's are paying no heed to all this suspense. Many from our class are going right ahead with their plans and are getting married, getting engaged, writing their theses, selling insurance, drinking martinis with business associates, getting raises, buying insurance, having children, drinking beer with old friends, complaining about the Army, and a few are even writing letters to me.

For instance, Bob Luce writes from Stanford that he is just an experiment or two away from his Ph.D. in Geochemistry. His activities include playing rugby for Stanford and recovering from a cartilage operation brought about by playing rugby for Stanford. Others in that area as reported by Bob are: Barry Sibson, who just completed his graduate work in engineering; JerryGurst, who recently got his Ph.D. in chemistry from Stanford; Andy Stone, who now has an M.B.A. from Stanford. Probably some of the above have since moved from the Bay area, but at least we know what degrees they have and where they got them.

Skip Savage dropped me a note, telling of bachelor life in San Antonio. Skip is a captain in the Air Force Dental Corps. He got his D.D.S. last June from the University of Pittsburgh. His gossip is as follows: "ButchHitchcock is living and working in Rye, N. Y., Bob Shields is finishing his graduate work in Boston, John Dimling is working for the Army near Washington, D. C."

Another dentist. Bill Davidson, was married last August. His wife is the former Joan Nadler. Actually, Bill has not yet received his D.D.S., but is at present a senior at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. The Davidsons will be living in Brookline.

I have many weddings to report. Some of them took place way last June. As much as I hate just listing them here they are: Tom Wood married Kathryn Francis out in Colorado on June 4. Tom is in Med School at the U. of Colorado. Jim Adler was married to Brooke Burgess of Pompano Beach, Fla., in June. The Adlers are now living in New York where "Ads" is doing I know not what. Pete Farquhar and Mary Grant were married June 26, in Berne, Switzerland. Pete spent two years in the Peace Corps. He is now doing graduate work at the University of California. Dave Petrie and Deanna Johnson said their vows on July 10. Dave has been in the Marines for three years and is now employed in the Traffic Department of the New York Telephone Company in Glens Falls. Jim Johnson married Miss Jennifer Patricia Holland in July. Jim's new wife is the sister of our own Tim Holland. Jim is still with Ogilvy, Benson and Mather Advertising in NYC. Bob Mathog was married to Deena Rabinowitz in June. They are now living in Durham, N. C., where Bob is serving his internship at Duke Hospital. May 23 was the wedding date for Allan Walker and Elaine Kendrick. They are now living in Toronto where Al is attending the University of Toronto School of Medicine. Stu Megibow married Joan Constom in West Orange last June. Stu is in the pension trust department of the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company of Newark. John Sedo and Linda Lee Roth were married in Carlisle, Pa., last June. They will be living in Reading where John is serving a year's internship at the Reading Hospital.

That's enough of the marital bit for now. Sorry to bunch them like this, but they were piling up.

From New York City comes word that: Len Schmolka is out of Law School and the Service and is now practicing with a firm located in or near the Pan Am building. Mark Schaster is selling insurance and living out on Long Island. Dick Griggs won a special award from the National Association of Life Underwriters for his work in the insurance business. Nice going, Dick.

Roger Wolf and his wife Nancy are off for La Paz, Bolivia, where Roger will be a Peace Corps Volunteer teacher of law. Roger, who recently passed his State of Arizona bar exams and is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, is one of 21 teachers in the group going to Bolivia. Nancy will be right at home in South America. She taught Spanish at the University of Arizona.

Mari and I spent a week in Chicago early in September. Highlight of the trip was an evening spent with Alex McGimris and his wife. It was a most interesting evening, especially when MaGoo, after a few drinks and a very little coaxing, sat down at the piano and ran through a few of his old rock and roll favorites. Jumpin'? I should say so! It really brought back memories of some of those Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons over at the Phi Delt house. The McGinnises have an apartment in Chicago while Alex finishes up Northwestern Med School.

I guess that's all for this issue. Not much new out this way - the Minnesota Twins had another great year, the leaves are starting to turn bright colors and our two daughters are growing in lung power everyday.
