With the wind whistling, the snow swirling, and the annual doubt as to whether the sun will ever turn warm again, we can only be terribly sympathetic with poor DuncanMacfarlan who has left the beauties of Ponte Vedra, Fla., to take up residence at 5804 Hidden Lane, Edina, Minn. We never thought of Dune as an extremist; but he certainly couldn't have changed climate more drastically.
A delightful Christmas card came in from George Cohn who is, apparently, highly pleased with the world at the Yale Medical Center. His card showed a pix of the four Cohn sprouts fishing and we repeat the information on the back for general knowledge. "As you can see, we spent our August vacation in the true family tradition of 'togetherness.' The children are excellent travelers which will make future travel worthwhile adventures. Life at the Medical Center is very busy but there is still time to avail one's self of the facilities. Even the kids join in with swimming every Saturday A.M. at the Yale Gym under the Yale Swimming Coaching Staff. It's a delightful atmosphere - with enough diversion to make the intellectual aspects most stimulating. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a healthy New Year."
Delightful to hear from you, George, with the hope that others will take a leaf from your book.
Jim Conceison has just been appointed advertising manager for the William Carter Company, Needham Heights, Mass. After working for Jordan Marsh for several years, Jim joined Carter's in 1957. Has been in various divisions until his new appointment. Along with "Beep" O'Shea, we now have two classmates able to give advice on the kind of babies' and children's clothes to buy (if you are still interested).
Actually February is the best time to be thinking of next year's Christmas cards, so it is pleasant to announce the appointment of Dick Rearick as director of purchasing of Rust Craft Greeting Cards in Needham Heights, Mass. A Phi Beta Kappa member, Dick was formerly General Purchasing Agent for the U.S. Envelope Company in Springfield, Mass., and is a member of the National Association of Purchasing Agents. He served one term as a Director of the Western Massachusetts Purchasing Agents Association. During World War 11, he served two years in Europe with the Army. A native of Hartford, Conn., he is married to the former Eileen Schurmann of Queens Village, N. Y. They have two children, Jonathan, 13, and Peter, 11. We have Dick's address down for Westport, Conn.; but, presume that he will be moving shortly and only hope that he will let us know.
News is scant this month, so hope that some of your wives will take pen in hand.
