ANNUAL CLASS OF '56 GET-TO-GETHER IN NEW YORK. George Yeager and Bud Schattman are beginning to make preparations for the Class cocktail party in New York. It will be Friday, April 23, at 5:30 at the Dartmouth Club in the Hotel Commodore.

Brew Blackall and Virginia DuBois were married on January 16 in New Canaan, Conn It was a memorable occasion for all of us there. Part of it, I guess was the snow that began falling in the early hours of the morning and by afternoon had turned the New England village of New Canaan into a quiet winter scene. Or maybe it was the good time we had dancing and singing Friday night, all of us really enjoying ourselves. Maybe it was just Brew and Virginia and the spirit in this world that brought them together to be united in the church in New Canaan. After the wedding was over and the reception and a few hours of sleep, I wrote down these thoughts, which are addressed to Brew's wife:

V is for victory, for the good guy you have won.

I is for'the ice and snow, which even on your wedding day were a source of laughter and fun.

R is for Russell Sage Hall at Dartmouth College, where Brew and I once lived.

G is for you and all girls, for you make man's life a joy.

I is for the island to the south where you and Brew now fly.

N is for New York, to which you have bid goodbye.

I is for myself, for I am still self-centered But I learned a lot that day about myself and about the world I've entered.

A is for agape, a Greed work, which describes what Christians mean by love.

Brew and Virginia are living at 4 Vernon Street, Apartment A-7, in Hartford.

I ran into Bill Miles one snowy evening in Cambridge. Bill has recently taken a position with the First National Bank of Boston in the overseas division. Bill is filling the position that has been held by Dan Daniels. Dan has recently accepted the position of associate director for programming in the new Massachusetts Commonwealth Service Corps. The service corps was created last June; its purpose is "mobilizing the resources of people of all ages throughout the state in a volunteer effort to meet desperate human needs." The new corps ties in with the Federal anti-poverty program, and it is like a state peace corps for local needs. Dan has also served as editor of Boston Forum magazine and as vice president of the Greater Boston Junior Chamber of Commerce. Bill Miles was with the Hanover Bank in New York before coming to Boston.
